Gnomes

The gnomes are a quirky race, obsessed with gadgets and technology. They originally come from the city of (Zone #133), which was destroyed by High Tinker Mekkatorque in an attempt to save it from an invading army of troggs.

Their leader, Gelbin Mekkatorque, built the first mechanistrander and led the campaign to recapture Gnomregan. The city of Gnomregan fell when it was unexpectedly attacked by the Troggs. The radiation treatment meant to kill the Troggs instead weakened them, and they spread throughout the city, infecting and killing many dwarves. To make matters worse, Gelbin's advisor, Sikko Termaplagg, engineered the failure of the defense, hoping to frame Gelbin and seize power in the city. The dwarves sided with Gelbin and headed to Ironforge in search of shelter.

The gnomes now make their home in Ironforge.

Gnomes start off questing in New Tinkertown, a subsection of Dun Morogh that the Gnomes regained control of from the troggs and leper gnomes.

Other zones with gnomes or mecha-gnomes include The Storm Peaks and Borean Tundra.

Haste increased by 1%.

Mounts

Milli Featherwhistle in Dun Morogh sells numerous mechanostriders, as well as Rillie Spindlenut at the Argent Tournament.These mounts include Swift Green Mechanostrider and Turbostrider.

Battle Pets

Fluxfire Feline is a cat created in Gnomeregan while Clockwork Gnome touches upon the Titan history of the gnomes.

Gadgets

Gnomes are known for their gadgets. Some items unique to Gnomish Engineering are Geosynchronous World Spinner, Ultrasafe Transporter: Gadgetzan, Gnomish Gravity Well, Gnomish X-Ray Specs, Gnomish Poultryizer, and Ultrasafe Transporter: Toshley's Station.
