The only reason time exists is so that everything doesn’t happen at once.

Getting the Timeless Proto‑Drake is both hard and simple at the same time. On one hand, you only need to defeat a single rare mob that patrols a specific route. On the other hand, catching the mob’s spawn window and tracking it along its path can take days or even weeks. This is because the mount is highly sought after by players — you won’t be the only one hunting it — and the mob’s spawn time is random, making it impossible to predict exactly when it will appear.

Despite this, obtaining the mount is still possible.

To do so, follow these recommendations:

• Install a special add‑on (NPCScan), which will notify you when a rare monster is nearby and display its details. This step is mandatory: without this add‑on, you might simply miss the mob flying past you.
• Fly to a specific location in The Storm Peaks and position yourself in the air where you cannot be attacked from the ground, but can still see what’s happening below.

• Wait for the add‑on to alert you that the desired mob has appeared nearby, then defeat it.

Acquiring this mount is a very tedious process that can take an enormous amount of time — which is precisely what makes it extremely rare and valuable among players. This creates high demand, and sometimes even leads to PvP confrontations between factions, as the mob is shared by both the Horde and the Alliance. Be cautious while hunting it: you may be killed by members of the opposing faction.
