Trading Post

The Trading Post is an alternative to a battle pass. It refreshes on the 1st of every month and allows players to purchase rare mounts, transmog sets and individual pieces, pets, and toys completely free by spending Trader's Tender earned through various in-game activities.

How to Find the Trading Post

Trading Posts are located in key cities:

Orgrimmar (Horde)

Stormwind (Alliance)

The Trading Post is also located in the main hub city of the current expansion, so you don't need to travel to your faction's capital to visit it. Finding the Trading Post on the map is very easy — it's marked with a special icon unnamed (20).png

How to Use the Trading Post

  • Approach and interact with the NPC.

An interface will open where all Trading Post items and their prices are displayed on the left, while the right side shows a detailed description of the selected item and a button to add it to your cart.

  • Select an item you like and add it to your cart.

For convenience, you can add multiple items at once and remove them later.

  • Complete your purchase.

Open your cart, review the items you selected, remove any you've changed your mind about, and pay.

  • Freeze an item for next month.

If there are too many items you like but you don't have enough Tender, you can always freeze one of them. The frozen item will carry over to the next month's Trading Post and won't be removed with the monthly refresh.

You can only freeze one item, so be careful and plan your Tender spending so you don't miss out on a listing you want.

How to Earn Trader's Tender

  • Chest

Every month you can receive 500 Tender for free without doing anything — you just need to have an active subscription. Simply approach the chest next to the NPC and interact with it.

The chest has a cumulative effect. If you didn't collect your Tender last month or didn't play WoW but had an active subscription, you will also receive 500 Tender for each missed period.

  • In-Game Activities

By earning 1,000 activity points, you'll receive 500 Tender along with a unique reward that also refreshes each month alongside the Trading Post.

All tasks are active simultaneously — you don't need to select or accept anything extra. Just find a suitable task and complete it.

  • Purchase from the In-Game Shop

Tender can also be purchased for real money if needed. A certain amount of Tender is also included with expansion pre-orders.

Tips and Useful Information

  • Items in the Trading Post can repeat. The shop is divided into 2 sections: new items that haven't appeared in the Trading Post before, and returning items that were previously available. So if you missed buying and freezing an item you liked, don't worry — it will return in the future.

  • Many items are only available to certain classes/weapon types, but they will be shown as a preview regardless of your class and weapon. Read item descriptions carefully to avoid buying items that don't suit your chosen class.

  • Use the hide armor option to see how an item will actually look on your character. By default, the preview shows your current transmog with the Trading Post item layered on top, which isn't always convenient.

  • Tender does not expire monthly, so if you don't like the current month's items, you can skip buying anything and spend your Tender later to purchase more items.

  • Don't forget to check the chest. Activity Tender and monthly Tender won't collect themselves. Make sure to pick them up from the chest so you don't lose them when the shop refreshes.

  • If you accidentally purchased an item but haven't equipped or used it yet, you have 2 hours to return it to the shop and receive a full Tender refund.
