Focused Netherslicer — Transmog Set Guide
Overview

Focused Netherslicer is a one-handed sword added in the Midnight expansion. The blade is built around a Void theme: a dark edge with cold lilac and blue-purple shimmers typical of the Voidstorm zone. The silhouette is clean and understated, with no bulky decorations, so the sword reads well even in fast-paced combat.
It is an ordinary item level 237 piece with a level 90 requirement, but what matters for transmog is its model. The sword suits classes that wield one-handed blades and fits nicely into looks built around dark magic and the Void.
Source
The sword drops from a rare elite enemy out in the open world — it is not a dungeon or raid, but an ordinary world drop you can get solo.
- The source is Far'thana the Mad, a rare elite enemy at level 92.
- You can find her in the Voidstorm zone — a Midnight zone for levels 88–90. Her spawn point is roughly at the coordinates
/way Voidstorm 53.8 62.4. - The sword's drop chance is high for a rare enemy — around 37–38%, meaning on average the item drops on the third or fourth attempt.
- The enemy respawns on a timer, so if you are unlucky it makes sense to check the spawn point several times or farm in a group to rack up attempts faster.
Since this is a world drop, there are no prerequisites, reputation, or currency needed — you just have to reach the zone and defeat the rare enemy.
Who It Suits Visually
- It fits perfectly into looks built around the Void and dark magic: Shadow priests, warlocks, death knights.
- It harmonizes with sets in lilac-purple and blue-black tones, especially Midnight sets from the Voidstorm zone.
- It contrasts with light and golden looks — for a paladin it makes a deliberately "dark" accent.
- It suits classes with one-handed swords: rogues, warriors, death knights, and mages in fantasy looks.
- It looks great paired with a dark shield or a second blade in the same cold palette.
Tips
1
Before the hunt, check whether someone is already waiting at the spawn point: rare enemies are often taken down in a group, and you can join someone else's fight.
2
The high drop chance means farming rarely drags on, but if you are unlucky simply return to the spawn point after each respawn.
3
Farming is easier on a class with good mobility — that way you reach the spawn point faster between respawn cycles.
4
If you only need the item for its appearance, a single drop is enough: once you get the sword, you can learn its appearance right away and stop hunting.
5
Combine the hunt with clearing other rare enemies in Voidstorm — many of them grant their own weapon and armor looks in the same Void theme.
6
Bring healing consumables with you: the enemy is elite, and at a low gear level the fight can drag on.

Started playing back in Pandaria, when the pandaren were still a novelty. Got stuck on Monk because it's the only class where you don't get dizzy after a dash. Tries to manage both tanking and kicking enemies in the face.
