Gilded Warhammer — Transmog Set Guide
Overview

Gilded Warhammer is a two-handed mace available only to paladins. It is a massive hammer with a heavy, faceted head in a golden hue and a haft styled after the Order of the Silver Hand. The model is built on classic plate motifs of paladin heraldry: a broad striking surface, pronounced ornamentation, and a warm gilded palette that pairs well with white and silver armor.
The appearance was added in the Legion expansion alongside the return to the Broken Shore (patch 7.2). Despite the modest item level of the weapon itself, only the model matters for transmogrification — and it remains one of the most recognizable "holy" two-handed maces in the game.
Source
The appearance cannot be obtained as a random drop. It is part of the
Arsenal: Armaments of the Silver Hand set — a special item that, when used, unlocks several paladin weapon appearances at once.
The arsenal is sold by Warmage Kath'leen, the quartermaster of the Armies of Legionfall. You can find her at the allied base in the Broken Shore zone, in the same place where the daily invasion quests are handed out.
Key purchase requirements:
- The arsenal costs 1000 Nethershards.
- The purchase is available only to a paladin character.
- After the arsenal is used, the appearances are added to your transmogrification collection permanently and unlocked for all paladins on the account.
Nethershards are farmed right on the Broken Shore: they drop from enemies, are awarded for completing local quests, and for taking part in zone events. You can accumulate 1000 units over a few play sessions, and at max Midnight level all the local content can be cleared solo without difficulty.
Who It Suits Visually
- Harmonizes with classic "holy" paladin sets in a white-and-gold palette — especially Silver Hand-themed tier sets.
- Suits armor with plenty of gilded and brass details, where the weapon should reinforce the overall warm tone.
- Contrasts strikingly against dark armor — the massive golden head becomes a bright accent point of the look.
- Fits looks in the spirit of knight-defenders and crusaders, where heavy, "temple" aesthetics matter.
Tips
1
Before buying, make sure you enter the zone as a paladin: the vendor will not sell the arsenal to a character of another class.
2
Save up Nethershards in advance — the 1000-unit threshold is reached faster if you combine daily quests with invasion events on the Broken Shore.
3
A single arsenal unlocks several appearances at once, so it is more efficient to save up for it in full than to chase individual hammers.
4
The appearances are unlocked account-wide, so there is no need to farm shards again on other paladins.
5
If you specifically want a two-handed option, also take a look at the Zealot's warhammer from this same set — it gives you a second large silhouette for different looks.
6
At max Midnight level the entire Broken Shore is cleared solo, so you can gather the currency at a relaxed pace without looking for a group.
