Malavita first discovered World of Warcraft in Draenor, but truly got into the game with the Shadowlands expansion. Has a soft spot for Demon Hunters and Mages. Considers her main goal to be collecting as many mounts as possible.

Heavy Copper Longsword is an uncommon-quality one-handed sword that appeared in World of Warcraft with patch 2.3.0. It is a simple, low-level Blacksmithing blade: a broad straight edge with a coppery sheen and a short, undecorated crossguard. In terms of stats it is an item level 5 weapon, but its appeal lies not in the numbers but in the look.
The model's main feature is that the sword is sheathed on the back rather than at the hip, unlike most one-handed blades. This behavior is rare among swords of this silhouette, so the item is prized by transmog collectors who gather unusual weapon-carrying styles. The sword suits classes that wield one-handed swords: Warriors, Paladins, Rogues, Demon Hunters, as well as any character who equips this weapon type for the look.
The appearance is obtained only through crafting via the Blacksmithing profession. The finished item is created from a plan, and the plan itself was once awarded for completing a profession quest.
Important to note: the "Supplying the Front" quest was removed from the live game in the Cataclysm expansion (patch 4.0.3a). On modern Midnight servers you can no longer obtain the plan this way — the appearance remains available only to those who learned the recipe earlier.
Check the sheath behavior in the dressing room before farming: it is the back attachment that makes this sword valuable for transmog, and it is easy to confuse with similar hip-carried models.
For the appearance to count, the finished sword must be crafted and equipped at least once — crafting without equipping does not unlock the look.
On current servers the recipe is unavailable due to the removed quest, so plan your farming on Classic servers if you do not have the look yet.
Stock up on 10 Copper Bars in advance for crafting: copper is mined from low-level ore veins and is cheap at the auction house.
Tigerseye is obtained when smelting copper — a byproduct of early Mining, so you usually do not need to buy it separately.
Level Blacksmithing to at least 35, otherwise you will not be able to learn the plan even if it is in your bag.
