The
Primal Gladiator's Felblood Gronnling is an epic ground mount from the Warlords of Draenor expansion, added in patch 6.2 "Fury of Hellfire" (June 2015).
In appearance, it is a large gronn whelp — one of the savage creatures of the Tanaan Jungle — covered in the green glow of the Fel and bearing the distinctive wounds left by the energies Gul'dan unleashed. Its coloration is one of a kind among the family of gronnling mounts: green shot through with purple veins of Fel, blazing green eyes, and an effect of fel vapor rising from its hide.
The mount was awarded exclusively for earning the Gladiator title in the very first arena season of Warlords of Draenor (the 16th arena season overall). After the season ended on June 29, 2015, the mount became completely unobtainable and was never awarded again.
Even in 2026, when the mount can no longer be obtained, understanding its value is worthwhile — it is a piece of WoW PvP history.
If you already have the mount — cherish it. If not — honestly accept that obtaining it is impossible, and consider the alternatives in the "Tips" section.
While the mount was current (WoD S1, December 2014 — June 2015), the following conditions had to be met to obtain it.
After the season results were officially announced, players who met the conditions received the mount and the "Primal Gladiator" title by in-game mail.
Since the mount cannot be obtained, below is a historical plan of action — the way the top WoD S1 players carried it out.
Character preparation. Reach level 100 and assemble the full "Primal Gladiator" set through Honor and Conquest points. Level your secondary professions (Cooking, Alchemy) for buffs.
Forming a team. Find two partners for 3v3 arena with a compatible composition.
Grinding rating. In December–January, push to 1500 rating for the base set, then climb to 2400+ through daily 3–5 hour sessions.
Completing the minimum of 50 wins. A mandatory condition. Wins count only for matches in rated 3v3.
Holding the top spot. In the final weeks of the season (May–June 2015), play actively to hold your position in the top 0.5%. You could not drop off the ladder on the last day — the final cutoff rating was what counted.
Season end. After 23:59 UTC on June 29, 2015, Blizzard shut down the season. A wait of 2–4 weeks for the results to be tallied.
Receiving the reward. Players who made the cutoff received an in-game mail from Arena Patron with the mount, the achievement and the "Primal Gladiator" title.
In 2026, none of these steps are available — the WoD arena is closed, the ladder has been wiped, and the season infrastructure has been dismantled.
Check your collection. Open the mounts window (Shift+P) and type "gronn" or "primal" in the search. If you have the mount — it's yours forever, even if you don't remember how you got it.
Don't trust "ready-made account" sellers. Buying accounts with exclusive mounts violates Blizzard's User Agreement and leads to a permanent ban. The mount will burn along with the account.
Focus on the current season. If PvP aesthetics matter to you, earn the current Gladiator while the season is active.
Save screenshots. If you're an owner, take screenshots of the mount in interesting locations — it's a fine memento of the WoD season.
Keep an eye on the news. The current PvP rewards change every season, and TWW has already announced new fel mounts for Season 3. Don't miss the chance to get a modern equivalent. If you were looking specifically for this mount and are disappointed that it's unavailable — don't worry. Every era of WoW leaves its exclusives behind; what matters more is what you can get here and now.
