Hailstorm Armoredon is an epic ground mount from the armoredon family, added in patch 10.0.2 of the Dragonflight expansion. It is a massive reptile covered in icy armor with a distinctive frosty glow. The mount's description reads: "Born in the heart of an ice storm, this armoredon prefers its food slightly frozen."
The Hailstorm Armoredon was the first mount in the line of rewards for the Keystone Master achievement in Dragonflight. Each season of the expansion offered its own armoredon: the
Inferno Armoredon for the second season, the
Verdant Armoredon for the third, and the
Infinite Armoredon for the fourth.
The Hailstorm Armoredon was a reward for the Dragonflight Keystone Master: Season One achievement. To obtain it, you had to reach a Mythic+ rating of at least 2000 during the first season of Dragonflight.
The mount is no longer obtainable through the achievement. The first season of Dragonflight has ended, and with it the ability to earn the Dragonflight Keystone Master: Season One achievement closed. The achievement has been moved to the "Feats of Strength" category and cannot be completed in the current seasons.
However, as of patch 12.0.5, it became possible to obtain this and other mounts from the Keystone Master achievements of previous expansions. To do so, you need to acquire the Saddle Lost in Time and trade it with Lindormi in Moonglade. The saddle can be earned through the "Mythic Keystone Hero: Midnight Season One" achievement by reaching 3400+ rating.
Earning the rating was gradual — the Mythic+ rating system counted your best result for each dungeon across both affix weeks (Tyrannical and Fortified). To maximize your rating, you needed to complete each dungeon at least twice — once for each week
You didn't have to do +15 — players who completed all dungeons at +12 to +14 levels with good timing also reached the 2000-point mark. This is confirmed by statistics on Wowhead
The mount does not fly — the Hailstorm Armoredon is strictly a ground mount. In the zones of the Dragon Isles, where Dragonriding is used, it is only useful for moving around on the ground
Check current seasonal rewards — if you missed the first season, keep an eye on the current rewards. Blizzard continues to release exclusive mounts for the Keystone Master achievement each season
