Retribution Paladin
Retribution Paladin
This is a melee fighter whose primary stat is Strength. In combat, they use two-handed weapons (axes, swords). A key feature of this spec is the mechanic of building Holy Power to unleash powerful abilities. Some abilities generate Holy Power, while others spend it to deliver maximum damage.
Strengths
A wide range of defensive abilities for both yourself and your group, such as
Blessing of Sacrifice and
Blessing of Protection.Raid-wide 3% damage reduction thanks to an aura.
Full immunity to damage from
Divine Shield.
Weaknesses
Damage depends heavily on rotation — your main abilities need Holy Power, and timing the build/spend cycle correctly is critical.
Low mobility.
Simple and repetitive rotation, which some players may find boring.

Leveling
The main damage-dealing abilities become available at level one. Use
Blade of Justice and
Divine Storm.
As you level up, you will unlock new abilities. We recommend sticking to the ability priority described in the rotation section.
Mythic+ Tips
1
In addition to your interrupt, use
Hammer of Justice to stun/interrupt a single target and
Blinding Light for AoE interrupts.
2
Some slows and movement-impairing effects can be removed with
Blessing of Freedom. Many dungeons feature enemies that apply damaging slows to you and your allies — always use this ability on yourself and your group.
3
If a group member dies during combat and you urgently need to resurrect them, use
Intercession to bring them back into the fight. > Combat resurrections have a global 10-minute cooldown. Charges accumulate every 10 minutes, so the longer you stay in the dungeon, the more charges you will have. You can resurrect several allies in a row if you have enough charges.
