Protection Paladin PvE Guide — Midnight
Protection Paladin
This is a tank whose primary stat is Strength. In combat it uses a one-handed weapon (axes, swords) and a shield. A defining feature of this tank is the mechanic of building Holy Power to use its abilities. Some abilities generate Holy Power, while others spend it.
Strengths
- A large amount of defensive abilities both for itself and for the group, for example
Blessing of Sacrifice,
Blessing of Protection. - The ability to reduce group damage by 3% thanks to an aura.
- Has full immunity to damage thanks to the ability
Divine Shield. - Has the ability to interrupt spellcasting for a large number of enemies and to do so frequently.
Weaknesses
- Damage and survivability depend on the rotation, since the main abilities require the Holy Power resource and it is very important to generate/spend this resource in a timely manner.
- Low mobility.
- A simple and monotonous rotation, which can be boring for some players.
- Requires maintaining a buff to reduce incoming damage, which requires spending Holy Power, which may not be the most convenient for beginner players.

Enchants, Gems, Consumables
Leveling
The main abilities for dealing damage will be available to you at the first level. Use
Avenger's Shield and
Blessed Hammer /
Judgment
As you level up you will gain new abilities. We recommend sticking to the abilities priority from the rotation section.
Mythic+ Tips
In addition to the spell interrupt ability, use
Hammer of Justice to stun/interrupt a single target's spellcast and
Blinding Light for AoE interrupts.
Some slow/stop effects can be removed with the ability
Blessing of Freedom. In many dungeons enemies apply various slows on you and your allies that deal damage. Be sure to use this ability on yourself and your allies.
If a member of your group dies during combat and you urgently need to resurrect them, use
Intercession to bring them back into the fight. > Combat resurrections have a global 10-minute recharge. Charges accumulate every 10 minutes, and the longer you are in the dungeon, the more charges you will have. You can resurrect several allies at once if you have enough charges.
