Frost Mage is a ranged fighter who can wield either two one-handed weapons (wands, daggers, off-hand weapons) or a two-handed weapon (staves). The class boasts huge burst damage in both single-target and AoE, along with a measured, smooth rotation featuring plenty of procs and ability stacks.
Strengths
- Excellent damage in both single-target and AoE.
- A simple rotation that lets you quickly grasp the class and put up good numbers.
- A raid buff granting 30% haste for 30 seconds (Bloodlust, Heroism), as well as an Intellect buff for all raid/party members.
Weaknesses
- Heavy reliance on burst cooldowns. Without them the class deals mediocre damage.
- You must track your ability procs and react to them quickly, since every delay significantly impacts your damage output.
- For AoE damage, mobs must be close together, since the radius of AoE abilities is small.

Leveling
From the very first level you will already have abilities to deal damage. Your main ability in the early levels will be Ice Lance.
As you gain levels you will acquire new abilities, gradually approaching your main rotation. We recommend sticking to the following ability priority as they become available:

The ability 
Alter Time lets you quickly recover after taking large but non-lethal damage. If you know you are about to take damage, press this ability once before taking the hit and once after.
You can cast 
Shimmer while casting spells if you urgently need to leave the area you are in.
Always keep 
Ice Barrier. active. The ability significantly increases your survivability.
