About the Class

Devourer Demon Hunter is a mid-range fighter who wields two one-handed warglaives. The spec has huge burst damage in both single target and AoE, excellent mobility and a simple rotation.

Strengths

  • Excellent damage in both single target and AoE.
  • A simple rotation that lets you get the hang of the spec quickly and put up good numbers.
  • Access to AoE crowd control and a group-wide damage immunity.
  • High survivability thanks to strong self-healing, reduced magic damage taken and two charges of ability_demonhunter_blurBlur.

Weaknesses

  • Heavy reliance on a burst cooldown (Void Metamorphosis). Without it, the spec's damage is mediocre.
  • Some of its spells have long cast times, and canceling them can cost you a lot of damage.
  • You have to stay correctly positioned at all times and react to incoming spells.

Leveling

From the very first level you already have abilities to deal damage. Your main abilities in the early levels will be inv_12_voiddh_ability_voidbladeVoidblade, inv_12_dh_void_ability_voidrayVoid Ray and inv_12_dh_void_ability_consumeConsume.

As you level up, you will unlock new abilities and move closer to the full rotation. We recommend following the ability priority below as each ability becomes available:

Mythic+ Tips

1

Use inv_12_voiddh_ability_voidnovaVoid Nova and ability_demonhunter_sigilofmiserySigil of Misery to interrupt casts and control groups of enemies.

2

You can use inv_12_dh_void_ability_shiftShift to gather Soul Fragments more quickly and efficiently. Try to use this ability as often as possible, because the number of fragments you collect directly affects the amount of damage you deal.

3

ability_demonhunter_darknessDarkness grants the group complete immunity to incoming damage (in a 5-player party). Make sure to use this ability during powerful mob or boss abilities aimed at party members. It also lets you skip some boss mechanics in dungeons, but that requires coordinated play from everyone.

Macros
