About the Class

This is a ranged caster whose primary attribute is Intellect. The Affliction Warlock is a master of curses, diseases and Shadow magic who slowly and painfully drains the life force from their victims.

The defining feature of the specialization is managing multiple periodic damage effects and accumulating Soul Shards to fuel powerful spells. Gameplay revolves around flawless maintenance of damage-over-time effects on several targets at once and efficient use of burst-damage windows.

Strengths

One of the best damage-over-time classes in the game.
Extremely strong in fights with 2–3 long-lived targets.
High mobility compared to other Warlock specs thanks to an abundance of instant-cast spells.
Excellent self-healing through Drain Life.

Weaknesses

Requires close tracking of many timers and debuffs.
Very low damage against targets that die too quickly.
Complex and demanding rotation that does not forgive mistakes in DoT refreshes.

Run through mob camps, applying Agony and Corruption as you go. Once you gather 5–7 targets, use Seed of Corruption and finish off survivors with Drain Life. Your Abyssal Demon will hold threat well while your DoTs do the work.
