Assassination Rogue PvE Guide — Midnight
About the Class
Assassination Rogue is a melee fighter who wields a pair of daggers as weapons. The class boasts excellent mobility, decent damage, as well as stealth and the ability to hide every member of the party/raid from enemies. A defining feature of the class is empowering abilities with combo points. By dealing damage with some abilities you accumulate combo points, while other abilities spend those points, gaining an additional bonus based on the number of points accumulated.
Strengths
- Stealth and the ability to hide every member of the party/raid, which lets you bypass difficult groups of monsters without fighting them.
- Excellent mobility.
- Deals large additional damage once a target drops below 35% health.
Weaknesses
- Strong reliance on burst abilities. Without them the class's damage is mediocre.
- A long setup before dealing AoE damage, as well as a difficult rotation to maintain that damage.
- Requires good knowledge of the class to correctly manage the ability priority.

Leveling
Right from the very first level you will already have abilities to deal damage. Your main abilities in the early levels will be
Ambush and
Envenomous Stab. As you gain levels you will acquire new abilities, drawing closer to your core rotation. We recommend sticking to the ability priority from the rotation section.
Mythic+ Tips
The ability
Shroud of Concealment lets you hide all of your allies from enemies. Use this ability to slip past strong groups of monsters you would rather avoid fighting.
You can use the ability
Sap to incapacitate a single enemy if you or your group need to get past it without entering combat.
The ability
Distract can let you divert enemies' attention and slip past them unnoticed.
Thanks to the ability
Kidney Shot you can stun an enemy for a very long time (8 seconds). Use this ability on enemies who cast strong spells against you or your group members. The longer an enemy is stunned, the less damage it can deal.
