About the Class

Vengeance Demon Hunter is a tank whose primary stat is Agility. In combat it wields two one-handed warglaives. The class has excellent survivability, good damage and a large number of abilities for controlling one or a group of targets.

Strengths

  • Excellent mobility and a wide range of abilities for gathering up enemies.
  • A simple defensive ability rotation that lets you quickly grasp the class and perform well.
  • AoE crowd control and a group damage immunity for both the raid and the party.

Weaknesses

  • Hero talents grant a random proc of a strong defensive ability that can trigger at the wrong moment and fail to trigger when needed.
  • Some defensive abilities are debuffs that require a target to be applied, which can be tricky at the start of a fight.

Leveling

From the very first level you already have abilities to deal damage. Your main abilities at the early levels will be ability_demonhunter_felbladeFelblade and ability_demonhunter_feldevastationFel Devastation.

As you level up you will gain new abilities, getting closer to the main rotation. We recommend following this ability priority as they become available:

Mythic+ Tips

1

Use spell_fire_felfirenovaChaos Nova and ability_demonhunter_sigilofmiserySigil of Misery to interrupt spells and control groups of enemies.

2

You can use ability_demonhunter_imprisonImprison to lock an enemy in a cage and walk past it without pulling its aggro. This ability is very useful in dungeons for skipping difficult packs of monsters without fighting them.

3

ability_demonhunter_darknessDarkness gives the party full immunity to incoming damage (in the case of a 5-person group). Be sure to use this ability during moments of powerful mob or boss abilities aimed at party members. This ability also allows you to skip some boss mechanics in dungeons, but it requires coordinated teamwork from all players.
