About the Class

Survival Hunter is a mid-range fighter who wields two-handed weapons (polearms, staves, swords). In combat, they use various bombs and volleys to deal damage. Despite being a hunter, this spec prefers to deal damage at mid/melee range.

Pros and Cons

Pros Cons
🟩 Decent and consistent damage in both single-target and AoE. 🟥 Small number of abilities, which greatly limits rotation. The class may seem boring to some players.
🟩 Simple rotation that allows you to quickly learn the class and perform well. 🟥 Requires being in melee/mid range, which can be challenging for some players.
🟩 Good survivability thanks to damage reduction abilities. 🟥 Few crowd control abilities and abilities that help the group.

As you level up, you will gain new abilities, getting closer to the main rotation. We recommend following this ability priority as they become available:

Mythic+ Tips

Tip #1

Make sure to use Misdirection on the tank before dealing damage or when the tank asks you to redirect threat from a mob pack (for example, pulling distant mobs to the tank or if someone in the group accidentally pulled and the tank can't redirect threat at the moment).

Tip #2

The ability Feign Death allows you to drop mob aggro if you accidentally pull an extra pack. This ability also lets you avoid many targeted abilities from mobs and bosses.

Tip #3

Use Camouflage if you need to pass by a group of enemies. This ability gives you full invisibility.

Tip #4

The abilities Exhilaration and Survival of the Fittest also work on summoned pets. Use them if you need to protect or heal your pets.
