Marksmanship Hunter PvE Guide — Midnight
About the Class
Marksmanship Hunter (MM) is a ranged fighter who wields a ranged weapon (bow, crossbow, gun). In combat, they use a variety of shots and volleys to deal damage. Although the class has plenty of instant-cast abilities, its core shots have fairly long cast times, which hurts mobility.
Strengths
- Solid and consistent damage in both single target and AoE.
- A simple rotation that lets you quickly grasp the spec and deliver strong results.
- A raid buff that grants 30% Haste for 30 seconds (Bloodlust, Heroism).
Weaknesses
- A small number of abilities, which significantly limits the rotation. The class may feel boring to some players.
- Your strongest abilities have cast times, which limits your mobility.
- Few crowd control abilities and few utility tools to support the group.

Leveling
From the very first level you will already have damaging abilities. Your main tools in the early levels will be
Aimed Shot and
Rapid Fire. As you level up you will unlock new abilities and get closer to the full rotation. We recommend sticking to the ability priority from the Rotation section.
Mythic+ Tips
Always use
Misdirection on the tank before you start dealing damage, or when the tank asks you to redirect threat from a pack of mobs onto them (for example, when you pull mobs that are far away from the tank, or when someone in the group does it by accident and the tank has no way to pick up threat at that moment).
Feign Death lets you drop aggro from mobs if you accidentally pull an extra pack. It also lets you avoid many targeted mob and boss abilities.
Use
Camouflage if you need to sneak past a group of enemies. This ability grants you full invisibility.
Exhilaration and
Survival of the Fittest also work on your summoned pets. Use them when you need to protect your pets or restore their health.
