Temple of Sethraliss — Mythic+ Dungeon Guide
Temple of Sethraliss
This dungeon was added in the Battle for Azeroth expansion and has returned to the Mythic+ rotation for the Midnight season. It is located in the sands of Vol'dun, within an ancient temple dedicated to the serpent goddess Sethraliss. Renegade fanatics and corruption spawn have desecrated the sanctuary and seek to awaken a twisted avatar of the goddess. Players must fight through the halls of the temple, restore its defenses, and defeat the bosses lurking within.
In this guide we cover all dungeon mechanics in detail and explain the nuances of fighting the bosses and elite enemies inside the dungeon.
Gyurzis and Aspidis

Boss Abilities
-
Gyurzis charges forward and strikes with an electric blade, distributing Nature damage among nearby players, then calls down a thunderclap that strikes everyone in a large radius.
-
Gyurzis becomes overwhelmed with electrical energy: his attack speed increases and his melee strikes deal additional Nature damage.
-
Aspidis assaults players with gusts of wind that gradually intensify and form hurricane zones. Players standing inside are silenced, so move out of these areas.
-
Aspidis unleashes blasts of storm wind that deal Nature damage and knock back players.
-
Aspidis deals Nature damage to the targeted player immediately and then periodically over several seconds.
Tactics for Gyurzis and Aspidis
Tanks
Keep both bosses together and face them away from the group. Save defensive cooldowns for
Overload, when Gyurzis's melee damage spikes sharply.Healers
Monitor players affected by
Gust and ramp healing during
Tempest Winds and
Gale Force, when the group takes bursts of Nature damage.DPS
Step out of
Tempest Winds zones to avoid the silence, spread during
Thunder and Lightning, and account for the knockback from
Gale Force to avoid being thrown into additional enemy groups.
Merekta

Boss Abilities
-
Merekta sinks crackling fangs into the target, dealing high Physical damage immediately and periodic Nature damage over several seconds.
-
Merekta exhales powerfully, dealing Nature damage, knocking back players, and showering the battlefield with Storm Strikes.
-
A mass of tiny snakes coils around the target, incapacitating and slowly suffocating them. Destroying or stunning the knot frees the victim.
-
Merekta burrows underground, dealing damage to players in her path, launching them into the air, and stunning them.
-
Summoned venomous vipers spit toxins at players, dealing periodic Nature damage.
Tactics for Merekta
Tanks
Save defensive cooldowns for
Lightning Bite and keep Merekta faced away from the group.Healers
Watch the player caught by
A Knot of Snakes and targets afflicted by
Poison Spit, ramping healing during
Serpentstorm.DPS
Free your ally from
A Knot of Snakes as quickly as possible, dodge the path of
Burrow and
Serpentstorm, and kill the summoned snakes and vipers.
Galvazzt

Boss Abilities
-
Galvazzt calls down lightning strikes that deal damage and knock back players. Lightning Spires appear at impact points and attempt to charge Galvazzt with energy. A player who stands between a spire and the boss intercepts the charge and gains
Galvanized. -
The intercepted spire charge deals periodic Nature damage and greatly increases Physical damage taken, but prevents the boss from gaining energy. Players soaking this effect should rotate.
-
Galvazzt releases an energy discharge, dealing damage and creating an Induction Field that must be avoided.
-
Upon reaching full energy, Galvazzt blasts the entire group, dealing Nature damage and reducing players' damage output. To prevent this, intercept the spires and deny the boss the chance to fully charge.
Tactics for Galvazzt
Tanks
Position Galvazzt so the group can conveniently intercept
Lightning Spire charges, and participate in rotating the
Galvanized soak.Healers
The main damage comes from
Galvanized on soakers and from
Consume Charge if the boss is allowed to fully charge — ramp healing at these moments.DPS
Stand between the spires and Galvazzt to intercept the charge and prevent
Consume Charge from triggering, and move out of the Induction Field from
Induction.
Avatar of Sethraliss
Boss Abilities
-
Orbs of Corrupted Lifeforce appear on the battlefield. A player who touches an orb cleanses it, taking the Corruption on themselves and triggering a Defiling Burst. If an orb is not cleansed in time, the avatar can absorb it to restore health.
-
The Entity Defiler channels dark energy into the avatar, preventing it from being healed by external sources. The add must be interrupted and killed.
-
The creature focuses on the nearest healer and attacks them, with each strike reducing their healing output. The effect stacks.
-
The avatar absorbs wounded renegade adds with low health, instantly killing them and restoring its own health.
Tactics for the Avatar of Sethraliss
Tanks
Keep the avatar and spawning adds grouped together so the group can conveniently manage Corrupted Lifeforce orbs and finish off the renegades.
Healers
Track stacks of
Shadowlash and remember that
Defiling Taint blocks external healing on the avatar — this works in your favor but requires killing the add.DPS
Cleanse
Corrupted Lifeforce orbs promptly to prevent the avatar from healing, interrupt and kill the Entity Defiler, and watch the renegades' health so the avatar cannot use
Siphon the Weak.
Elite Enemies
Beyond the bosses, dangerous elite enemies await you as you advance through the temple — renegade fanatics, sand elementals, and corruption spawn. Several of the most notable are covered below. Against such foes, assign kill targets in advance, interrupt spells, use crowd control, and avoid pulling multiple groups at once.
Empowered Stormcaller

An elite caster who bombards the group with storm energy discharges. It is important to interrupt and crowd-control this enemy whenever possible, and to prioritize killing it first.
Hoodoo Hexer

An elite renegade warlock who curses and hexes players. Interrupt its spells and keep it crowd-controlled to reduce damage and disruption to the group.
Electrified Dervish
(screenshot placeholder)
An elite enemy who spins rapidly in a whirlwind of electrical energy, dealing damage to everyone nearby. Stay out of its path and prevent it from reaching vulnerable group members.
Stealthy Assassin
An elite assassin who emerges from stealth to deliver a powerful ambush strike. Be ready for its appearance, apply crowd control, and quickly focus it down.
