About the Spec

Beast Mastery Hunter (BM) is a ranged fighter who wields a ranged weapon (bow, crossbow, gun). In combat it uses various pets to deal damage. It is a very mobile class that does not require the player to spend long casting spells during a fight.

Strengths

  • Solid and consistent damage in both single-target and AoE.
  • Simple rotation that lets you quickly grasp the spec and put up good numbers.
  • Access to a raid buff granting 30% haste for 30 seconds (Bloodlust, Heroism).

Weaknesses

  • A small number of abilities, which greatly limits the rotation. The class may feel boring to some players.
  • You must manage your summoned pets both in and out of combat, since pets can pull mobs while moving.
  • Few abilities to control enemy groups and few tools to help the group.

Leveling

From the very first level you already have abilities to deal damage. Your main abilities at early levels are ability_hunter_barbedshotBarbed Shot and ability_hunter_killcommandKill Command. As you level up you gain new abilities and get closer to the core rotation. We recommend sticking to the ability priority from the rotation section.

Useful Mythic+ Tips

1

Always use ability_hunter_misdirectionMisdirection on the tank before dealing damage, or when the tank asks you to redirect the threat of a monster group onto them (for example when pre-pulling mobs far from the tank, or if someone in the group did it by accident and the tank cannot redirect threat to themselves right now).

2

The ability_rogue_feigndeathFeign Death ability lets you drop aggro from mobs if you accidentally clip an extra pack. It also lets you shed a large number of targeted mob and boss abilities.

3

Use ability_hunter_camouflageCamouflage if you need to slip past a group of enemies. This ability grants you full invisibility.

4

The ability_hunter_onewithnatureExhilaration and spell_nature_spiritarmorSurvival of the Fittest abilities also work on your summoned pets. Use them when you need to protect or restore your pets’ health.

Macros
