Titansteel Spellblade is an epic one-handed dagger added to World of Warcraft with the Wrath of the Lich King expansion in patch 3.1.0. It is a main-hand weapon from the Titansteel blacksmithing family — a series of items forged from the toughest metal in Northrend.
Visually, the blade keeps to a cold silvery-steel palette: a narrow straight edge with engraving along the flat and a massive guard, typical of Northrend craftsmanship from the late Lich King era. The model relies on the standard silhouette of forged weapons from that period, so it reads well next to plate armor and heavy shoulders.
Originally the item belonged to the right-hand weapon slot, but in the transmogrification system its appearance is also available for off-hand weapons — which broadens where the dagger can be used. In terms of stats the blade is oriented toward classes that use spell power, yet for a collector the numbers matter less than the look itself: once learned, the appearance stays in the transmog collection forever.
Titansteel Spellblade is a crafted item. It is forged by a player with the Blacksmithing profession, without any ties to raids, dungeons, or random loot drops.
The main expense is the Titansteel bars: they are obtained by smelting Titanium Ore with the addition of eternal elements, and there is no daily smelting cap in modern versions of the game. Infinite Dust is gathered by disenchanting green gear from Northrend, and frozen orbs were a daily-quest currency of that era and now turn up on the auction house.
Before learning the recipe, level your Blacksmithing to at least skill 440 — without that threshold the master won't sell you the schematic.
If you don't have the profession yourself, arrange it with a blacksmith from your guild: the reagents are passed to the crafter, and they will forge the finished dagger for you provided all materials are present.
It is cheaper to craft Titansteel bars yourself from Titanium Ore — buying finished bars on the auction house is usually more expensive.
Infinite Dust is reliably available on the auction houses of large servers, but in large quantities it is cheaper to disenchant green Northrend gear yourself.
Frozen orbs are an outdated daily-quest currency, so check the auction house: their price fluctuates depending on the server.
The appearance counts toward your transmog collection right after you receive the dagger, even if you aren't wielding it — putting the item in your inventory once is enough.
When collecting the appearance for the collection, forge several related Titansteel items in one trip to the anvil — this saves you travel time.
