Revival Catalyst
The Revival Catalyst is a system that allows you to upgrade items you already have equipped, transforming them into items from the current raid — including tier set pieces — without needing to clear the raid itself.
Where Is the Revival Catalyst Located?
The Revival Catalyst is located in the very center of Dornogal, in the Forgegrounds district.

On the day the catalyst opens, players will receive a short quest directing them to the device's location.
How to Use the Revival Catalyst?
The catalyst system is very straightforward. You need to place a piece of equipment into the interface slot. The adjacent slot will display information about what item will be produced. This can be either a tier set piece or a regular item with modified stats, in cases where the item cannot be a set piece (for example, a belt).

If you're satisfied with the result, click the "Transform" button — the catalyst will consume one charge from your current character, and the item will be converted into a set piece.
You can either manually drag the item into the slot by right-clicking it in your bag while the catalyst window is open, or select from a list of eligible items on your character by simply clicking the desired slot.

The catalyst window displays how many charges your character has remaining. You can have a maximum of 8 charges, and they accumulate at a rate of 1 every two weeks from the moment the catalyst becomes available. Therefore, spend them wisely and only on your strongest gear. For example, you might skip the first week, obtain maximum-level gear from the Great Vault, and then convert it into a tier set piece.
A useful script that lets you check your catalyst charges without being near it:
/run local n=(C_CurrencyInfo.GetCurrencyInfo(3269).quantity or 0)print(string.format("This character has %d Dornogal Catalyst charges available.",n));
What Gear Restrictions Apply?
Only items of "Veteran" rank and above are eligible for catalyst conversion — this includes gear from Mythic and Mythic+ dungeons, PvP equipment, raid gear, Delves rewards, corresponding Great Vault rewards, world boss drops, and gear from local events and weekly quests.
Crafted gear, regular open-world drops, Season 1 or Season 2 items, and similar items cannot be used for this purpose.
When converting, the item retains its current level and rank, including PvP level, upgrade tier, and any tertiary stats it has — Leech, Avoidance, Indestructible, and gem sockets. Enchantments are removed.
The catalyst transforms regular gear into tier set pieces, changing their appearance as well. During conversion, the original item model is replaced with the one from the set, and its color scheme depends on the item level.
The item's color changes even if a previously converted low-level item is later upgraded to a higher level through the regular gear upgrade currency system. This means you can obtain raid transmog appearances without ever entering the raid.
Non-set items converted via the catalyst, such as bracers, belts, boots, and cloaks, do not receive set bonuses but still have their stats and appearance changed to match corresponding items from the current raid.
Revival Catalyst Features
The ability to use the catalyst becomes available at the start of the season.
Charges are granted to all existing and future characters on the account. Each character has their own charges — while they are awarded to all characters simultaneously, each character spends them individually. Therefore, all characters on your account, even those created mid-season, will have the same number of charges as a character you've played since the season began.
Only armor can be upgraded (main slots — helmet, chestpiece, leggings, shoulders, gloves — and secondary slots — bracers, belt, boots, cloak). Weapons, trinkets, rings, and necklaces cannot be used with the catalyst.
The catalyst is only available for level 80 characters.
Players can convert items from previous seasons in the catalyst to obtain old set appearances for free, without spending current charges.
The maximum number of charges is 8, but they continue to accumulate until the end of the season, so you should spend them in a way that always leaves room to receive one charge every 2 weeks.
