Priestess' Moonsaber is a flying mount from the Battle for Azeroth expansion, added in patch 8.1.0 "Tides of Vengeance" (December 2018). It is an elegant armored nightsaber in white-and-silver tack bearing the symbols of Elune, visually reminiscent of the jeweled panthers of Pandaria. According to its in-game description, such a beast was once granted only to the high priestesses of Elune — after the burning of Teldrassil, the night elves opened access to it for the defenders of the Alliance.
The mount is purchased only with the 7th Legion Service Medal — a currency earned on the Warfront: The Battle for Darkshore, from Darkshore world quests, by killing the world boss, and in Island Expeditions. The vendor is Provisioner Stoutforge in the harbor of Boralus, by the gangway of the ship "Wind's Redemption." The price is 750 medals. The matching mount for the Horde is the
Bloodthirsty Dreadwing, but the Moonsaber can be acquired only on an Alliance character.
The maximum number of medals in your wallet is capped at 2,000, so spend what you've saved before buying the next goods to avoid hitting the ceiling.
The vendor stands in the harbor of Boralus, in Tiragarde Sound, next to the 7th Legion flagship.
/way #895 66.9 25.8 Provisioner StoutforgeThe warfront is the main source of medals. It alternates with the Arathi warfront roughly every two weeks, with each faction's access opening in turn.
While the Alliance controls Darkshore, world quests and a world boss are available there.
With active play, one full warfront cycle (two weeks) brings 150–200 medals: 30 for the warfront itself, 60–90 for world quests, 15 for the world boss, 15 for the heroic warfront, and the rest from battlegrounds. A full mount purchase takes 4 to 6 cycles, that is roughly 2–3 months.
Medal stores are bound to a specific character, but each character has its own limit. Run two or three characters in parallel: one saving for the
Priestess' Moonsaber, a second for transmog sets, a third for toys. Chests with item level 460 gear from the heroic warfront are useful for the wardrobe on every class.
A warfront victory counts once per cycle and gives a guaranteed gear chest. If you missed a week, the second will be twice as valuable, so plan at least one run per cycle.
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
| 750 medals | |
| 200 medals | |
| 350 medals (after the heroic warfront) | |
| Darkshore transmogrification sets | 250–750 medals |
| Item level 370 ring | 1,000 medals |
| Flasks and reagents | 10–50 medals |
Buy the mount first — it is the most expensive, and the other rewards are easier to top up with the remaining medals.
Watch the warfront rotation — the warfront calendar shows which faction currently controls Darkshore. Take the quest and world quests specifically during the Alliance control phase, otherwise access to the zone is closed.
Grab the world boss right after landing — Ivus the Decayed gives not only 15 medals but also a chance at transmog items and item level 400 gear. It appears in the center of the zone, and general chat helps you find it.
Use a set for level scaling gear — the heroic warfront was tuned for item level 415+ in its day; at level 80 in The War Within that is no longer a requirement, but a 10–20 raid is desirable for a reliable win.
Don't throw away old azerite — the weekly azerite quest gives 30 medals, and azerite drops from any old BfA zone. This is the fastest way to make up for a missed warfront.
Fly right after the purchase — the mount unlocks in all zones with flying enabled, including Darkshore and Kul Tiras, as soon as the character has the Expert Flying skill.
Remember the shared access — if one character has bought the mount, new Alliance characters get it for free in their collection. Horde characters buy a separate variant, the
Bloodthirsty Dreadwing, from a vendor in Dazar'alor.
