Amani Dragonhawk
Overview

Amani Dragonhawk is a rare epic flying mount added in patch 4.1.0 of the Cataclysm expansion. The mount is obtained by redeeming a promo code from a World of Warcraft TCG loot card from the Twilight of the Dragons set. Only about 2% of players own this mount, making it one of the rarest forms of transportation in the game.
The item description reads: "Dragonhawks freed from troll bondage are considered among the most loyal of all their kind." Visually, the mount is a dragonhawk in the colors of the Amani tribe — a vivid combination of green and red shades that sets it apart from other dragonhawks.
Why You Want This Mount
- Exceptional rarity — the Amani Dragonhawk is owned by less than 2% of players. It is one of the rarest mounts in the collection, and encountering it in the open world is practically impossible
- Collector's value — the mount comes from the WoW TCG card game, which has been discontinued. New cards are no longer printed, and remaining codes become rarer with every passing year
- Unique model — the dragonhawk in Amani tribe colors is not duplicated by any other mount in the game
- Account-wide — once learned, the mount appears in the collection of every character on the account
- Tradable and sellable — the item is bind-on-use, not bind-on-pickup. Before activation, it can be listed on the auction house or traded to another player
How to Get the Amani Dragonhawk
There are two ways to obtain this mount: redeem a promo code from a loot card, or buy an already-activated item from another player.
Method 1: Promo Code Redemption
The Amani Dragonhawk loot card belongs to the Twilight of the Dragons set — the fifteenth release of the WoW TCG card game. Card production has ended, but unused codes can still be purchased on the secondary market.
- Purchase an Amani Dragonhawk loot card or an unredeemed promo code. Cards are sold on platforms like eBay and at specialized collectible card shops
- Scratch off the protective layer on the card to reveal the 25-digit code
- Log in to your Battle.net account and go to the code redemption section. In the Battle.net app, click your profile name and select "Redeem a Code"
- Enter the 25-digit code from the card and confirm the redemption
- Log in to the game and travel to Booty Bay (Cape of Stranglethorn)
- Find Landro Longshot on the dock next to the Harbormaster's building
- Talk to him, choose the Twilight of the Dragons set, then Amani Dragonhawk, and enter the code you received during the online redemption
- Landro will give you the
Amani Dragonhawk item — use it to learn the mount

Method 2: Auction House Purchase
Since the item is bind-on-use, other players can list it on the auction house. This is the fastest path to the mount, but also the most expensive.
- Open the auction house and search for "Amani Dragonhawk"
- Check the auction house regularly — the item appears extremely rarely
- Be ready for a high price: the auction cost depends on the server and can run into several million gold
- After purchase, simply use the item from your bag — the mount will appear in your collection
Twilight of the Dragons Set — Other Loot Cards
The Twilight of the Dragons set contains three loot cards of varying rarity:
| Loot Card | Reward | Rarity |
|---|---|---|
| Nightsaber Cub | Pet | 1 in 11 packs |
| Fool's Gold | Pet | 1 in 121 packs |
| Mount | 1 in 242 packs |
The Amani Dragonhawk is the rarest card in the set. At an average booster box price (24 packs) of about $50, statistically you would need to open around 10 boxes to obtain this card.
Tips
Verify code authenticity — already-used or fake codes circulate on the secondary market. Buy only from reputable sellers with buyer protection systems
Auction is safer than a code — if you have enough gold, an auction house purchase is safer than buying a promo code from an unknown seller. The in-game transaction is protected by the auction system
Track prices — use the TradeSkillMaster addon or The Undermine Journal website to monitor the mount's appearance on the auction house and the average prices on your server
Mind the region — promo codes are region-locked (Europe, Americas, Asia). A code for the Americas region will not work on a European account
Counts toward achievements — the Amani Dragonhawk counts toward the mount collection achievement tally
Booty Bay reputation — if your character is hostile to the Booty Bay faction, guards will appear when you speak to Landro Longshot. In that case, redeem the code on a different character
