Overview

Bonesteed of Oblivion

Game iconBonesteed of Oblivion is a collectible skeletal steed added in patch 11.2.5 as an exclusive reward of the limited-time WoW Remix: Legion event.

Note: the WoW Remix: Legion event ended on January 19, 2026. If you did not acquire this mount during the event, it is currently unavailable. Blizzard has not yet announced a return of Legion Remix or an alternative way to obtain this mount.

The mount's description reads: "A good warhorse is loyal to the bone. Having shed its mortal coil, this steed has become a harbinger of desolation and doom."

Why you want this mount

  • One of four exclusive recolors of the Four Horsemen bonesteeds, created specifically for Legion Remix
  • The model is based on the death knight steeds of the Ebon Blade order — a lore nod to the Four Horsemen of Acherus
  • It stands out from the other recolors with a unique bone-white color scheme, associated with the Pale Horseman (a symbol of death and oblivion)
  • Collectible value as a mount from a limited-time event

Mount type change history

When released in patch 11.2.5, all bonesteeds of the WoW Remix: Legion series were flying mounts. However, due to an incorrect flight animation (the model used a "swimming" motion in the air), Blizzard released a hotfix on October 22, 2025, changing the type of all bonesteeds to ground.

The Four Horsemen bonesteed series

Within WoW Remix: Legion, four recolors of bonesteeds were available, each corresponding to one of the Horsemen of the Apocalypse:

Mount Theme Cost
Game iconBonesteed of Oblivion Death (bone-white) 10,000 Bronze
Game iconBonesteed of Carnage War (red) 10,000 Bronze
Game iconBonesteed of Pestilence Plague (green) 10,000 Bronze
Game iconBonesteed of Triumph Conquest (blue) 10,000 Bronze

All four mounts were purchased from the same vendor for Bronze — the currency of Legion Remix.

How it could be obtained

Requirements

  • A character on the WoW Remix: Legion servers
  • Level 10 or higher
  • Apprentice riding skill or higher
  • 10,000 Bronze — the special currency of the Legion Remix event

Vendor

The mount was sold by the NPC Hemet Nesingwary XVII, located at the Infinite Bazaar — a trading island floating south of Dalaran in Legion Remix.

You could reach the Infinite Bazaar after completing the introductory Legion Remix quest chain. All reward vendors were located in one place.

Farming Bronze

Bronze is the main currency of WoW Remix: Legion. It could be obtained from many sources:

  • Dungeons and raids — the main source, especially on Mythic difficulty
  • World quests and events — in the open world of the Broken Isles
  • Mythic keystones — granted a significant amount of Bronze
  • Legion quests and campaign — a one-time income while progressing through the story
  • Chests and rare enemies — an additional source while exploring the world

With active content completion, 10,000 Bronze could be accumulated in a few days of play.

Current availability status

The WoW Remix: Legion event lasted from October 7, 2025 to January 19, 2026. The event went through 5 phases, each unlocking new content and rewards.

After the event ended:

  • All Timewalker characters were converted into regular characters
  • Mounts purchased during the event were kept in your collection forever
  • Purchasing the mount after the event ended is impossible
  • At the moment there are no alternative ways to obtain it

If you did not manage to acquire the Bonesteed of Oblivion, all that remains is to wait for a possible return of the event or the introduction of an alternative way to obtain it. Blizzard has brought back similar events before (MoP Remix in 2024, Legion Remix in 2025), so a repeat in the future cannot be ruled out.

Mount characteristics

  • Type: ground
  • Speed: depends on riding skill (from +60% to +100%)
  • Source: purchase for Bronze from Hemet Nesingwary XVII (Legion Remix)
  • Binding: account-bound (available to all characters on the account)
  • Model: a skeletal warhorse in a bone-white coloring

Tips

1

If the WoW Remix event returns in the future, plan your mount purchases in advance — with limited time, it's best to focus on exclusive rewards that cannot be obtained any other way

2

All four bonesteeds cost 10,000 Bronze each, meaning the full series collection required 40,000 Bronze

3

When farming Bronze, the most efficient methods were Mythic keystones and high-difficulty raids

4

The mount is account-bound — if you bought it on one character, it is available on all your characters after the event ends

Started playing back in Pandaria, when the pandaren were still a novelty. Got stuck on Monk because it's the only class where you don't get dizzy after a dash. Tries to manage both tanking and kicking enemies in the face.
