Brawler's Burly Mushan Beast
Overview

Brawler's Burly Mushan Beast is an epic ground mount added in patch 5.5.0 of the Mists of Pandaria expansion. It is a massive mushan clad in red-brown armor covered in spikes. The mount was purchased from the vendor Paul North in the Mor'Bay Arena for 1,500 gold after reaching rank 8 in the Brawler's Guild.
Mushan are large reptilian creatures from Pandaria, resembling the kodo of Kalimdor. Pandaren, yaungol, and even saurok have used mushan as draft and riding animals for centuries. The Brawler's Burly Mushan Beast differs from its wild kin with its battle armor and a more imposing build — its plating is twice as thick as that of
Son of Galleon, with which it shares a base model.
Current status: the mount is unavailable. The Brawler's Burly Mushan Beast was available in the first and second seasons of the Brawler's Guild (Mists of Pandaria and Warlords of Draenor). When the guild was updated in patch 7.1.5 (Legion), the mount did not return to the vendors and was replaced by the
Brawler's Burly Basilisk. Those who purchased it earlier kept the mount in their collection.
Why You Want This Mount
- Rarity — the Brawler's Burly Mushan Beast has been unavailable since 2017. It does not drop from bosses and does not appear at vendors. It is one of the rarest mounts in the game, and seeing another player riding it is a real rarity
- Unique model — the battle armor with massive spikes sets this mushan apart from other riding animals of Pandaria. The red-brown coloring of the plating gives the mount an aggressive look
- A symbol of achievement — owning this mount means you cleared all 8 ranks of the Brawler's Guild back in the Mists of Pandaria or Warlords of Draenor era, when the bosses were genuinely challenging
- Available to all characters — the mount is account-bound and available on all of your characters
How to Obtain (Historical Note)
The mount is no longer available for purchase. Below is the process that applied during seasons 1 and 2 of the Brawler's Guild.
- Get an invitation to the Brawler's Guild. In seasons 1–2, entry required the item
Blood-Soaked Invitation, which dropped from rare enemies in the open world or could be bought on the auction house - Reach your faction's arena. For the Horde — the Mor'Bay Arena in the Valley of Honor in Orgrimmar. For the Alliance — Bizmo's Brawlpub in the Deeprun of Ironforge
- Clear all 8 ranks, defeating each boss in solo duels. Each rank included several bosses that had to be defeated one after another
- After defeating the final boss of rank 8, open the vendor interface of Paul North (Horde) or Quackenbush (Alliance)
- Purchase the
Brawler's Burly Mushan Beast for 1,500 gold - Use the item to learn the mount

Brawler's Guild — How to Get In
The Brawler's Guild is solo content in which you fight bosses one on one in an arena while other players watch. The arenas are located in the faction capitals.
Mor'Bay Arena (Horde)
The Mor'Bay Arena is in the northernmost building of the Valley of Honor in Orgrimmar. Coordinates: roughly 70, 31 in Orgrimmar. The entrance is on the lower level of the building — look for the stairs leading down.
Bizmo's Brawlpub (Alliance)
The pub is in the Deeprun of Ironforge. Head down into the central hall and find the entrance to the pub — it is located deep within the underground chambers.
Combat Rules
- You fight a boss one on one in the arena
- You have a time limit on each fight (usually 2 minutes)
- If you lose, you are sent to the back of the queue
- Other players watch your fight and can cheer or jeer
- Pets and summoned creatures are allowed in the fight
Brawler's Guild Ranks and Bosses
To buy the mount you had to clear all 8 ranks. Each rank contained several bosses, and the difficulty increased with each rank.
General Tips for Clearing
- Learn the mechanics — each boss has unique abilities. Before the fight, read the boss description so you know what to expect
- Prepare your gear — good gear makes the fights significantly easier. At the current max level, most bosses can be defeated without much effort
- Use potions and food — buffs from food and potions work in the Brawler's Guild and give a noticeable advantage
- Choose a suitable class — some classes handle certain bosses more easily. Classes with high burst damage and self-healing (paladins, demon hunters, death knights) are best suited
- Dodge the mechanics — many bosses use area attacks. Keep moving constantly and step out of the danger zones on the arena floor
Alternative Brawler's Guild Mounts
If you didn't manage to obtain the Brawler's Burly Mushan Beast, other mounts are available in the Brawler's Guild.

Tips
The mount is unavailable — if you did not obtain the Brawler's Burly Mushan Beast before patch 7.1.5, acquiring it the standard way is impossible. Focus on the current Brawler's Guild rewards
Black Market Auction House — according to unconfirmed reports, the mount occasionally appears on the Black Market Auction House. Watch the listings if you want to get this mushan
The Brawler's Guild returns — in patch 11.2.7 The War Within, the guild reopened its doors with new bosses and rewards. Even if the mushan is unavailable, you can earn other unique mounts
Check the current vendors — in the current season, new NPCs became the guild quartermasters: Dershway the Trigger (Alliance) and "Unlucky" Simms (Horde). Paul North no longer serves as the main vendor
For collectors — if you collect mounts, take a look at the other mushan of Pandaria: the
Ashhide Mushan Beast from the Timeless Isle and
Son of Galleon from the world boss Galleon in the Valley of the Four Winds

Started playing back in Pandaria, when the pandaren were still a novelty. Got stuck on Monk because it's the only class where you don't get dizzy after a dash. Tries to manage both tanking and kicking enemies in the face.
