Get Feltooth Eviscerator
Overview

Feltooth Eviscerator is a one-handed epic dagger added to World of Warcraft with the The Burning Crusade expansion. It is a short blade with a curved edge and a dark hilt, finished in the greenish-grey palette of Outland — cold metal with a green sheen typical of weapons from the era of the Burning Legion's invasion. The silhouette is compact and predatory, without bulky ornamentation, so the dagger reads well on a character of any build.
In terms of game stats this is a low-level weapon (item level 33, requires character level 30), but for transmogrification the stats are irrelevant — only the appearance matters. The Feltooth Eviscerator is valued for its understated "fel" aesthetic: it suits the looks of rogues, demon hunters, and any characters whose theme is tied to the fel and Outland. The dagger has no armor class — the weapon is available to every specialization that can wield daggers.
Source
The dagger drops from the final boss of the Hellfire Ramparts dungeon — Vazruden the Herald. The fight is a combination of the rider Vazruden and his dragon Nazan; the loot drops after you defeat the entire encounter.
- The Feltooth Eviscerator is the epic, heroic version of the item. It only drops when you run the dungeon on heroic difficulty.
- Hellfire Ramparts is the lowest and most accessible wing of Hellfire Citadel, located in the centre of the Hellfire Peninsula in Outland.
- The entrance to the dungeon is at the base of the citadel, next to the summoning stone. On modern servers heroic mode is selected right in the dungeon window — no separate key is required to enter.
- There is no attempt limit: you can reset the dungeon as many times as you want until the dagger drops.
- The drop chance is low and not precisely documented — a typical situation for rare epic loot from The Burning Crusade dungeons. Plan for several runs.
Under need/greed loot rules the dagger goes to specializations able to wield daggers — primarily rogues. When running solo this factor is irrelevant: all loot drops directly to you.
Who It Suits Visually
- Looks with a "fel" theme — the greenish sheen of the metal echoes armor that draws on fel energy and sets from the era of the Legion's invasion.
- Rogues, demon hunters, and other characters who rely on paired daggers: the compact silhouette looks good in both hands.
- Dark sets in a grey-green palette — the dagger fits the overall colour scheme and doesn't pull focus.
- Looks in the style of Outland and The Burning Crusade — the weapon directly references the aesthetic of that expansion.
- Minimalist builds without bulky weaponry: the blade has a strict shape with no extra detail.
Tips
Hellfire Ramparts clears quickly — on a max-level character a full run takes a few minutes.
The dungeon is comfortably soloable: The Burning Crusade bosses pose no threat to a leveled character.
To get the dagger in its epic variant, be sure to set heroic difficulty — on normal difficulty a different, non-epic version of the model drops.
Reset the dungeon and re-enter if the dagger didn't drop: there are no limits on the number of attempts.
On a single run you also roll the chance at the
Hellreaver from the same boss — it's efficient to farm both appearances in parallel.
It's most convenient to farm with classes that have high clear speed and good survivability — they reach Vazruden the Herald faster and get distracted by trash mobs along the way less often.
If you're collecting transmog via Timewalking, Outland is available in the corresponding Chromie stream — a handy way to scale your level to the content.
