Get Final Grade
Overview

Final Grade is a two-handed caster staff added to World of Warcraft alongside the dungeons of the Dragonflight expansion.
Visually it is a massive draconic finial on a dark shaft: a model from the dragonkin family that almost every weapon type received in Dragonflight. The head resembles an open maw with a pair of curved horns and a smoldering gem in the center, while the shaft is wrapped in bony plates.
The staff's name plays on the place where it drops: you receive it as the final "grade" for completing Algeth'ar Academy, the school of the dragon people in the Thaldraszus zone.
Source
Final Grade drops from Echo of Doragosa, the final boss of the Algeth'ar Academy dungeon. The boss unlocks after defeating the three previous guardians of the academy, after which it tests the group with spatial magic.
- The staff's drop chance from Echo of Doragosa is around 11 percent (according to Wowhead).
- This is a dungeon drop: you can farm the item an unlimited number of times, and runs are not restricted by a weekly lockout.
- Normal, Heroic, and Mythic difficulties are available, as well as Mythic+ mode, and the appearance is identical across every version, so any variant is enough for transmog.
- The appearance is bound to your account the moment the item first reaches your bags.
The dungeon entrance is in the Thaldraszus zone, at the base of the tower next to the meeting stone:
Echo of Doragosa stands in the far hall of the academy, with approximate coordinates inside the instance of 61.7, 60.6. In Midnight Season 1 the dungeon returned to the Mythic+ rotation, so reaching it became even easier: a direct portal to the location is open from Silvermoon, or you can fly in from the nearest flight point in Thaldraszus.
Visual Pairing
- It harmonizes with sets in a red-and-gold palette, for example with the cloth and leather caster sets from the Dragonflight dungeons done in those same shades.
- It suits draconic and arcane-magic themes: looks tied to the azure, emerald, and bronze dragonflights of Thaldraszus.
- It contrasts strikingly against warm gold-and-red sets, where the gem finial becomes the single cold accent, which fits a "dark mage with a relic" look.
- It is fitting for staff-based specializations thanks to the large, expressive finial that stands out in flight and in combat.
Tips
The most convenient way to farm the appearance is on Normal or Heroic difficulty: the model there is the same as in Mythic+, and the runs are faster.
In Midnight Season 1 the dungeon is part of the Mythic+ rotation, so daily groups for it form quickly, making it the most reliable way to do repeated runs.
A chance of around 11 percent means the staff drops on average within a few runs, but dry streaks are possible, so plan for a buffer of attempts.
On a single run you can also get a housing decoration from this same boss, the Valdrakken Bookcase, so the trip is not wasted even without the weapon.
Soloing the dungeon at max level 90 goes without any trouble: Dragonflight content has long been outdated in power, and the bosses die quickly.
Bring a class with steady single-target damage; there are no extra mechanics on the solo kill of Echo of Doragosa, so clearing speed up to her matters more.
You only need the appearance once: after the first acquisition it unlocks for all characters on the account, and you can stop farming.
