Game iconFist of Reckoning is a rare one-handed mace added in The Burning Crusade. Its head is shaped like an angular metal block with faceted ridges set on a short handle — a compact and brutal melee weapon. The look is neutral, so it fits well into "working-class" warrior and rogue themes.

The mace's stats are modest and aimed at low levels, so today the item is interesting purely as a transmog. The appearance is valued for its concise, "knuckle-duster" shape, which looks great paired with a second weapon.

Source

Fist of Reckoning is a common world drop from the early zones of Outland: it falls from a wide variety of creatures and turns up in chests, but it is not tied to a specific boss.

  • The item most often drops from level 60-63 mobs in Hellfire Peninsula, Zangarmarsh and Terokkar Forest, as well as from creatures in the starter dungeons of these zones.
  • Besides mobs, the mace can be found in fel iron chests scattered across these same territories.
  • It is a random drop with a very low chance from each individual enemy, so targeted farming can take a long time.
  • The item becomes soulbound only when equipped, meaning that until then it can be freely traded and sold.
  • Because the mace is not bound on pickup, the most reliable way to obtain the appearance is to look for it at the auction house rather than farm it by hand.

Who It Suits Visually

  • Looks good with neutral warrior sets made of leather and mail without bright coloring.
  • Harmonizes with rogue and "bandit" themes thanks to its compact shape, convenient for dual wielding.
  • Suits styles based on fist or crushing combat, where you need a weapon resembling a weighted knuckle-duster.
  • Contrasts with ornate ceremonial sets, working as a deliberately rough, utilitarian accent.

Tips

1

Before spending time farming, check the auction house: the mace is not bound until equipped and is often available there cheaply.

2

If you decide to farm it yourself, it is more efficient to clear dense clusters of mobs in the early Outland zones rather than hunt individual rare creatures.

3

Open fel iron chests along the way — this is an additional source of the appearance and of other valuable items at the same time.

4

At max level any class clears Outland mobs instantly, so farming is limited only by drop chance, not by difficulty.

5

Since the drop chance from each mob is low, keep free space in your bags and collect duplicates to sell — this will pay off the time spent farming.

6

The appearance is convenient to gather alongside farming other transmogs or Outland reputations, without making separate trips.
