"Gavel of Pure Light" is a one-handed blunt mace added to World of Warcraft with The Burning Crusade expansion. The model is rendered in a bright golden-white palette: the wide striking head resembles an opening bud or a ceremonial pommel that radiates a soft glow. This is a classic "holy" weapon silhouette for anyone who wants the look of a defending paladin or a priest of the Light.
The item is intended for characters using a one-handed melee weapon whose stats include intellect: priests, shamans, and paladins. In terms of stats it is a long-outdated item level 14 weapon, but as a transmog it remains in demand thanks to its clean, bright palette and its tie to the draenei race and the Sha'tar faction.
The mace's main value is its availability. It is a guaranteed reward from a vendor rather than a random drop: simply raise your reputation to Exalted and the item is yours.
"Gavel of Pure Light" is purchased from the vendor Almaador, who holds the title "Sha'tar Quartermaster." He stands on the lower tier in the center of Shattrath City, on the Terrace of Light, next to A'dal.
/way 51.0 42.0 Almaador.Sha'tar reputation is earned in several ways. The main one is turning in badges of justice from Outland dungeons and arenas, as well as story quests in Shattrath. Additionally, reputation is granted by quests in the Auchenai (Auchindoun) faction dungeons while wearing the appropriate tabard. For a modern character, the fastest approach is simply to solo the Heroic dungeons of Outland and turn in the badges you accumulate.
Sha'tar reputation is easiest to finish off by running Heroic Outland dungeons and turning in badges of justice — for a modern character that is mere minutes per run.
Wear the tabard of the relevant dungeons so that the extra victories over enemies also grant Sha'tar reputation.
The item is bound on pickup, so you need to buy it on the character you plan to collect the appearance with.
After purchase, the appearance is saved in your transmogrification collection forever — you will not have to farm it again.
While you are at it, grab the "Crest of the Sha'tar" shield from Almaador: you will collect a weapon-plus-shield combo in a single matching style at once.
If you are a draenei or play an Aldor paladin look, this mace organically completes a themed Light set.
