Skulking Nettledirk — Transmog Set Guide

Skulking Nettledirk is an epic one-handed dagger from the Midnight expansion. It is a light, predatory-looking bladed weapon with a distinctive silhouette from the ruthaani model set that Blizzard introduced for raid-tier weapons in Midnight. The dark hilt and narrow poison-green blade read clearly in combat and don't get lost against larger models.

The Skulking Nettledirk drops from the world boss Thorm'belan — an elite elemental that dwells in the Harandar zone. According to its lore, this was once a peaceful creature of Harandar's southern lands, forever changed by the Radiant Growth.

Key details on obtaining it:

• The source type is an open-world world boss, so you don't need to assemble a separate raid.
• Thorm'belan stands roughly at /way 38.6 66.5 in Harandar — it's easy to spot by the skull icon on the map when the boss is active.
• The fight has no participation limit: any player who happens to be nearby can walk up and help kill the boss.
• The victory reward is granted once per weekly reset for the entire group. One "Veteran"-level equipment item is guaranteed to drop, and the Skulking Nettledirk is one of the possible options from the loot table.
• The reset happens with the weekly one: Tuesday in the American region and Wednesday in the European one.

Thorm'belan is part of the weekly rotation of four Midnight world bosses. On an inactive week it isn't available for combat — in that case you have to wait for its turn in the rotation.

To reach Harandar, you first need to complete the Eversong campaign. After that, the Scouting Map in Silvermoon opens access to the zone: a quest sends you to a portal in the village of Crimson Breeze. There are no permanent flight points inside the Harandar zone itself, so for returning it's convenient to set your hearthstone to Harandar or use the same portal in the village of Crimson Breeze.

The Skulking Nettledirk has no known color variants of this exact model — it is the only dagger in Thorm'belan's loot table. The same boss drops related weapons of a similar Midnight raid style, which can be considered as a replacement for a different class or look:
