Smite's Mighty Hammer — Transmog Set Guide
Overview

Smite's Mighty Hammer is a two-handed blunt mace of blue quality dating back to the very beginning of World of Warcraft's history. It is one of the classic low-level dungeon reward weapons, familiar to anyone who ran Westfall back in vanilla WoW.
Visually it is a heavy wooden hammer with a wide metal head — a rough, working-pirate silhouette with no flashy effects. It is precisely this simplicity that makes the look valuable: it fits perfectly into sets themed around miners, bandits, and seafaring wanderers. The name refers to its owner — Mr. Smite, the first mate of the Defias Brotherhood that seized the mine.
Source
The mace drops from Mr. Smite — one of the bosses of the Deadmines dungeon.
- The dungeon is located in Westfall, in Alliance territory; the entrance lies in the southwestern part of the zone, along the coast.
- Mr. Smite is an elite humanoid, the first mate; in combat he periodically throws aside his weapons and grabs a huge hammer, after which he strikes in an area of effect.
- This is an ordinary blue weapon, so the drop chance is high — the item often drops on the very first or second kill of the boss.
- There is no limit on the number of attempts: the dungeon can be re-run every single day.
- The item binds on pickup, so you need to farm it on the very character who needs it for the look.
For a modern character the Deadmines is an easy two-minute solo clear, and the only reason to go there today is to collect this and other classic looks.
Who It Suits Visually
- Ideal for looks themed around the miners and bandits of Westfall thanks to its rough wood-and-metal model.
- Pairs well with leather and mail sets in earthy, brown-gray tones.
- Suits "pirate" and seafaring looks — it nods to the Defias Brotherhood and the flooded holds of the dungeon.
- Stands out in heavy plate sets as a deliberately simple, "laborer's" weapon.
Tips
Enter on a max-level character — the dungeon is cleared solo instantly, and no group is needed.
Mr. Smite stands closer to the end of the dungeon, so you will have to run through several halls and the ship's deck to reach him.
On a single run it is worth grabbing the looks from the other bosses too: the classic Deadmines sets are popular for transmog.
If you are going as Alliance, the easiest way is from Stormwind through Westfall; for the Horde it is more convenient to fly via the nearest flight points of the Eastern Kingdoms.
The look is saved to your collection account-wide after the first acquisition, so there is no need to farm it again on other characters.
The hammer binds on pickup — decide in advance which character needs this look, and farm it on exactly that one.
For a quick return, keep the Deadmines in your dungeon teleporter favorites, if it is available at your level.
