Soul-Scribe's Tabiqa Dagger — Transmog Set Guide
Overview

Soul-Scribe's Tabiqa Dagger — an epic one-handed dagger added to World of Warcraft with patch 11.2 "Ghosts of K'aresh" of The War Within expansion. This is an intellect weapon with an attack speed of 1.80; the base item level is 170, and in high Mythic keys the model upgrades all the way up to the "Myth 8/8" mark.
Visually the dagger is crafted in the aesthetic of the ethereals of the planet K'aresh: a thin curved blade, a hilt tightly wrapped in light cloth, and a pommel shaped like a woven knot. The silhouette echoes the ritual daggers of the oracles and directly references the rite from the Tabiqa quest, which the Soul Scribe performs to restore her bond with the world.
The model is sought after by classes wearing cloth and leather armor — priests, warlocks, mages, shamans, and evokers, who assemble themed sets in the spirit of a "K'aresh oracle" or "void priestess". Its main strength is the recognizable ritual silhouette and clean, light palette without an overload of effects.
Source
The Soul-Scribe's Tabiqa Dagger drops from the Soul Scribe — the final, third boss of the Eco-Dome Al'dani dungeon. This is a new dungeon from patch 11.2, which is part of the Mythic+ rotation of the third season of The War Within.
- Content type — a 5-player dungeon, available in Normal, Heroic, and Mythic+ difficulties.
- Base item level — 170; in Mythic+ the dagger upgrades along the track all the way up to the "Myth 8/8" mark.
- Drop chance — a regular group roll from the final boss's loot table; the dagger can also come from the Great Vault as a weekly reward for completed Mythic keys.
- Binds when picked up. You can trade the item to another participant only within the same group within two hours of the drop.
How to Reach the Dungeon
The fastest way is the portal in the portal room of Dornogal next to the Great Vault: for the duration of the season there is a portal there to all Mythic+ dungeons in the rotation, including Eco-Dome Al'dani. The portal takes you straight to the meeting stone at the entrance.
An alternative route is through Tazavesh: reach the eastern docks and pass through the rift to K'aresh, where the entrance to the dungeon is located by the northeastern docks.
Bosses in Order
| # | Boss | Fight Type |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Azhikkar | Devourer worm, a fight focused on area damage. |
| 2 | Taah'bat | A dual fight — Taah'bat and his companion A'wazj. |
| 3 | Soul Scribe | Finale. Mechanics of echo doubles and collecting your own soul. |
What You Need to Know About the Final Boss
The dagger drops only from the third boss, so you need to clear the dungeon to the end. The basic mechanics of the Soul Scribe:
- "Whispers of Fate" — deal damage to all players and create an echo double for each. You need to pick up your echo in time and gain a positive effect; otherwise a debuff that reduces attack speed will be applied to your character.
- "Ceremonial Dagger" — linear throws toward the echo and fate-bound players; you must not get caught in them.
- "Fear of the Unknown" — a marked player explodes after a while, dealing damage to everyone nearby; you need to move away from the group.
- "Eternal Pattern" — a cast at full energy: the boss enters a ritual and unleashes spinning arcane cones. This is the key moment where unprepared groups fall apart.
On Normal and Heroic difficulties these same abilities work in a simplified form, so for the transmog alone the dungeon can be run on minimal difficulty.
Alternatives
This dagger has no known color variants: the model appeared with patch 11.2, and there are no other items with the same appearance yet. The only path to this look is to farm the dagger itself from the Soul Scribe.
If you need a ritual silhouette similar in spirit, pay attention to weapons from the same story line and location:
- Caster daggers and ceremonial weapons that drop from the other bosses of Eco-Dome Al'dani — they share a kindred ethereal style.
- Weapons from the loot tables of the "Manaforge Omega" raid of the same patch — it continues the theme of the planet K'aresh and the ethereals.
Who It Suits Visually
- The light ritual palette makes the dagger a good match for cloth priest and warlock sets in white and silver tones.
- It pairs with capes and cloaks of ethereal theme from K'aresh content — the blade is conceived as part of a unified oracle look.
- It contrasts with dark leather and mail: the light blade stands out brightly on the "raven" sets of a rogue or hunter, creating a deliberately dual image.
- It fits well into a themed "ritual priest" or "oracle" kit — with staves and daggers of void and arcane styling.
- The cold light range conflicts with red-orange "fiery" sets — for such looks it's better not to take the blade.
Tips
Go for the dagger in a group of 5: this is the final boss of the dungeon, you can't beat it solo on current difficulties.
For the transmog alone, Normal or Heroic difficulty is enough — high Mythic keys are only needed by those who care about the combat item level.
If you're farming Mythic keys for rating, the dagger can come twice: a roll from the final boss plus a separate chance from the Great Vault the following week.
Any caster class can unlock the appearance: you just need to get the dagger into your inventory once for the look to land in your wardrobe.
To reliably reach the third boss, watch the echo mechanic: first pick up your echo, and only then dodge the arcane cones of "Eternal Pattern".
The dagger cannot be bought from a vendor or obtained for currency — the only source of the look is a drop from the Soul Scribe. Any "guaranteed" offers outside the game violate Blizzard's rules.
You can enter the dungeon as many times per week as you like — there is no attempt limit on the final boss's loot table.
