Spire of Transfused Horrors — Transmog Set Guide
Overview

Spire of Transfused Horrors is a two-handed staff in the nerubian style, added to World of Warcraft with the Nerub-ar Palace raid in The War Within expansion (patch 11.0.2). The head resembles a cocoon of webbing and chitin with a pulsing crystal inside, while the shaft itself is wrapped in organic growths in the spirit of the Azj-Kahet spider hive. The model belongs to the shared series of Nerub-ar Palace raid weapons: the same silhouette with different coloring by difficulty.
The staff is available to specializations that use this weapon type — druids, hunters and monks. For transmog collectors it is valuable above all for its dark, "abyssal" palette, which sits well on spider- and void-themed looks.
Source
The staff's source is loot from the boss Broodtwister Ovi'nax in the Nerub-ar Palace raid. This is the sixth of the raid's eight bosses, a giant nerubian brooder surrounded by a clutch of eggs.
- The appearance is tied to difficulty. Each difficulty grants its own coloring of the staff: turquoise-copper on Raid Finder, purple-gold on Normal, purple-gold with a richer shade on Heroic, and purple-silver on Mythic.
- The drop chance on any given attempt is low, but the raid is outdated: in Midnight, Nerub-ar Palace is farmed solo by almost any level 90 class.
- There are no lockout restrictions on re-entry. Personal loot lets you farm as many weeks as it takes for the coloring you want.
- Raid Finder is opened through the group finder tool without prerequisites, so the simplest tint is obtained the fastest.
Who it suits visually
- It pairs with the nerubian and spider sets of Nerub-ar Palace — thematically this is the "native" staff for such looks.
- It harmonizes with dark-purple and charcoal-black armor: void and shadow sets of mages, druids and monks.
- It contrasts with light cloth and gilded plate — a debatable but expressive accent for "Void priest" looks.
- It looks good in sets with chitin, web and crystal motifs — for example, paired with the void and nerubian armor of Khaz Algar.
Tips
First grab the coloring from Raid Finder — this is the fastest and most accessible tint with no gear requirements.
To collect several tints at once, run the raid on different difficulties in one week: personal loot on each counts separately.
In Midnight the raid is cleared solo, so it is more convenient to farm on a character with good mobility and survivability.
Boss Broodtwister Ovi'nax stands in the middle of the raid; you need to kill five bosses before him — budget about 15-20 minutes for a full solo run.
If the coloring does not drop within a week, repeat the run on the next reset — there is no weekly attempt limit.
The appearance unlocks in the appearances collection after you obtain the item; you do not need to wear the staff itself permanently.
