Herbalism The War Within
Why Is Herbalism Needed?
Herbalism is one of the most popular professions for earning gold. It’s perfect both for beginners who want to earn their initial gold and for experienced players who refine the herb‑gathering process to perfection. The higher your profession level and the more knowledge points you’ve invested in talents, the more and better‑quality resources you’ll obtain.
Besides regular herbs of various qualities, you might get lucky and gather the Null Lotus — an extremely rare resource highly valued among players. The chance of obtaining a Null Lotus ranges from 1 % to 6 % with each herb collection. This chance depends on:
- the quality of the herb you’re gathering;
- your profession level;
- the tools you’re using;
- any blessings affecting you.
A guide explaining how to get the maximum profession stat bonus is available (see the reference below).
This profession pairs perfectly with Alchemy. With Herbalism, you’ll gather reagents, and with Alchemy, you can craft various potions and elixirs from them — or create rarer reagents to sell to other players.
Where to Learn Herbalism?
How Does Herbalism Work?
To gather resources, find nearby harvestable herbs and right‑click on them. This will start the gathering process, and after a few seconds, you’ll receive your loot.

You can always locate nearby herbs on your minimap.

Leveling Herbalism
Unlike other professions, Herbalism levels up directly through herb gathering. The more herbs you collect, the faster you’ll level your profession. You don’t need to prepare reagents or stand at a workbench to improve your skills — all you need is time. Leveling from 1 to 100 takes from 30 minutes to a couple of hours, depending on how much and how quickly you gather herbs.
There are countless different routes you can fly to gather herbs. We recommend choosing a convenient circuit that works for you. Simply pick a location you like and design a circular route so you can complete the loop in about 5 minutes. This lets you gather herbs as they respawn — by the time you reach the end of your route, the first herbs you collected will have reappeared, allowing you to repeat the circuit.
Useful Tips
Tools
Besides your profession level and talents, the game features special tools that boost your profession stats and increase the chance of obtaining rare loot. Tools come in green and blue quality tiers. For example, the Artisan's Sickle.
- Green‑quality tools can always be purchased from the auction house under the Profession Gear category.
- Blue‑quality tools can be crafted via the order table. This requires 300 Artisan's Insight, which you can earn through crafting activities.
Enhancements and Buffs
The game offers special potions and items that boost profession stats, increasing the chance of obtaining rare reagents while gathering.
To maximize your herbalism output, we recommend using all of these:
Some potions and elixirs can be quite expensive. We recommend using them only after:
- leveling your profession to 100;
- equipping high‑quality gear for both your character and profession;
- investing some talent points.
Otherwise, the cost of potions may not be worth it.
Market Demand and Pricing
If you plan to profit from your profession, we recommend closely monitoring the prices of all reagents you gather. For instance, you can add them to your auction house favorites.
Keep in mind that:
- not all reagents have the same value;
- higher‑tier gathering doesn’t always justify the price.
For example, you might gather many low‑tier reagents that are priced the same as high‑tier ones due to player demand for that specific type.
Enhanced Herbs
In addition to regular herb clusters, you’ll encounter enhanced herbs. Gathering them is slightly more challenging and requires completing a small mechanic. In return, you’ll receive more resources.
There are six types of enhanced herbs:
- Webbed. When you approach or attempt to gather this herb, you’ll be entangled in webs. Your task is to break free by running a short distance away. As a bonus, you’ll receive some cloth or webbing.
- Camouflaged. This herb is invisible to players. You can reveal its location only if you have the Vial of the Four Seasons effect active.
- Spore‑Saturated. When you approach or try to gather this herb, several clones of it will appear. You must identify the real herb. If you guess wrong, you’ll receive a small debuff and the herb will disappear without yielding any resources.
- Rich. This herb has no negative effects. It’s simply a large cluster that yields more resources and has an increased chance of rare drops.
- Crystallized. This herb also has no negative effects. Instead, it provides extra herbs upon gathering and grants you a small stat buff.
- Altered. After gathering this herb, you’ll receive a 1‑minute debuff that deals damage. You can remove this effect by gathering a Crystallized herb.
Layers and Availability
All gatherable resources are shared across layers and have a limited number of gathering attempts. You might see a herb, but it disappears when you approach — this is intentional.
The profession is in demand year‑round, so competition, especially on popular routes, is intense. To improve your chances of successful gathering:
- minimize your gathering time;
- approach resources as quickly as possible.
Overcharge
Once you’ve leveled your profession to 100, you can unlock the herb overcharge talent.
When near a regular herb cluster, you can use this ability to transform the nearby herb into an enhanced one. The herb type and enhancement will be random, and the ability’s cooldown decreases with each herb you gather.
