Adherent's Wriggling Backstabber — Transmog Set Guide

Adherent's Wriggling Backstabber is a one-handed dagger added to World of Warcraft in patch 11.2 "Ghosts of K'aresh" of The War Within expansion. It is a rare item (blue quality), and in the transmogrification collection it is marked as a "Lost Weapon" — an appearance that cannot be equipped like a normal weapon; instead it is added directly to your warband's collection.

The dagger's model is steeped in the corruption aesthetic of the Old Gods: a writhing, seemingly living blade with organic growths and a sickly crimson-violet glow. The silhouette is short and predatory — a typical dagger for stealthy combat — and thematically it nods to the cultists and adherents of dark powers, which is reflected in the item's very name.

The appearance is available to every class that uses daggers: rogues, druids, demon hunters, mages, warlocks, priests, shamans and monks. Since it is a "Lost Weapon," once obtained the appearance is bound to your entire account.

The Adherent's Wriggling Backstabber belongs to the collection of interphase weapon appearances that are obtained through phase shifts — a special kind of exploration on K'aresh added in patch 11.2.

Where and how to get it:

• Phase shifts unlock over the course of the "Ghosts of K'aresh" story campaign: after the third chapter you receive the artifact cloak Reshii Wraps.
• For weapon appearances to start dropping, the cloak must be upgraded to the "Secrets of the Depths" upgrade — it unlocks the spawning of phase orbs during phase shifts.
• Phase orbs are visible only in the phased state and are scattered across the K'aresh zone. When you pass through an orb, there is about a 20% chance to receive an interphase weapon appearance you don't already have.
• An orb never gives a duplicate — you always receive a new, undiscovered appearance from the set.
• There is no daily limit on the number of orbs: orbs keep spawning as long as you explore the zone in the phased state.

This dagger is one of the appearances in the set, so you cannot specifically "target" it on its own. You unlock interphase appearances in random order until you collect the whole set.

Related reward. Once you collect all the interphase weapon appearances, the Phase-Lost-and-Found achievement unlocks. It grants the Phase-Lost Slateback mount — so farming this dagger directly brings you closer to the mount.
