Overview

Blessed Amani War Bear

Game iconBlessed Amani War Bear is a ground mount from the Midnight expansion that can be purchased from the quartermaster Magou in the village of Amani'zar within Zul'Aman. The mount does not rely on a random drop — it is a guaranteed reward for raising your renown with the Amani Tribe faction. To buy it, you will need renown level 17 and 6,000 Duskfathom Marl.

The mount journal description reads: "Once symbols of conquest, these war bears once again tread the land, reborn through the blessing of Nalorakk and the renewed spirit of the Amani."

Purchase Requirements

Before heading to the vendor, make sure both conditions are met:

Requirement Details
Amani Tribe renown Level 17 (of 20 possible)
Currency 6,000 Duskfathom Marl

Renown in Midnight works on a warband system — progress is shared across all characters on your account. Each renown level requires 2,500 reputation points, which means reaching level 17 from zero takes a total of 42,500 reputation points.

Where to Find Magou the Vendor

Magou is the Amani Tribe quartermaster. He is located in the village of Amani'zar, in the southeastern part of Zul'Aman.

You can reach Zul'Aman in one of the following ways:

  1. Through the scouting map. After completing the opening campaign in Eversong, Zul'Aman becomes available as one of three zones to explore. Select it on the scouting map in the Sanctum of Light.
  2. Portal from Silvermoon. If you have already unlocked the zone, use the portal from the Quel'Thalas capital.

How to Raise Amani Tribe Renown to 17

Raising renown is the main part of the journey to the mount. Below are all reputation sources, listed from the most efficient to the supplementary ones.

Main Weekly Sources

  • The weekly quest "Bountiful Offerings" — grants 2,000 reputation for taking part in the "Bounty" world event in Zul'Aman. The single largest one-time reputation source per week.
  • The weekly dungeon quest — in Silvermoon you are offered a choice of faction and a dungeon run for 1,500 reputation. Pick the Amani Tribe until you reach level 17.
  • Special assignments — appear periodically in Zul'Aman and give a noticeable reputation boost.
  • Generous expedition caches — up to four per week, with a chance to grant reputation for a random faction.

Daily and Ongoing Sources

  • World quests in Zul'Aman — refresh on Wednesdays and Saturdays, each granting Amani Tribe reputation.
  • Contract: Amani Tribe — an inscription item that grants bonus Amani Tribe reputation for completing any world quests across all Quel'Thalas zones. Use it every week for passive reputation gain.
  • Rare enemies — weekly elite foes in Zul'Aman award reputation on the first kill of the week.

One-Time Sources

  • The Zul'Aman story campaign — the main and side quests in the zone. After finishing the campaign you will be around renown level 5–6.
  • Treasures and lore objects — scattered across the zone, each granting a small amount of reputation.
  • Zul'Aman's highest peaks — one-time points for exploration.

Reputation Bonuses

Some events speed up your progress:

Bonus Boost
Darkmoon Faire +10%
World Quest Bonus Event +50%
Contract: Amani Tribe +10–15 per world quest

Combine the World Quest Bonus Event with an active contract for maximum effect.

How to Earn 6,000 Duskfathom Marl

Duskfathom Marl is the universal currency of the Midnight expansion. It is spent on mounts, pets, housing decor, and other items from renown vendors. Here are the main ways to earn it:

Fast Methods

  • Hunting prey — a hunting system available through the NPC Astalor Bloodsworn on the Murder Row in Silvermoon. Experienced players earn up to 1,800–2,000 marl per hour by repeating the "trap — turn-in" cycle.
  • Expeditions and conversion — taking part in expeditions earns you undercoins, which can be exchanged for a Seeker's Satchel containing Duskfathom Marl (250 marl for 2,000 undercoins).

Weekly Sources

  • World quests during Duskfathom Storms — reward marl directly.
  • The weekly cache — grants 100 marl along with gold and other resources.
  • The "Bountiful Offerings" quest — when reaching 20,000 points it awards 200 marl in addition to reputation.
  • Converting surplus crests — if you have hit the seeker's dawn crest cap, the surplus is automatically converted into marl.

With active play, you can accumulate 6,000 marl in 3–4 weeks alongside raising your renown.

Tips and Recommendations

  • Don't spread yourself across all factions at once. The weekly dungeon quest and the contract let you focus your effort on a single faction. If the bear is your priority, channel all selectable reputation sources into the Amani Tribe.
  • Combine activities. By killing rare enemies and collecting treasures on the way to world quests, you gain reputation from several sources in a single play session.
  • Watch for bonus events. A World Quest Bonus week (+50% reputation) is the best time for mass renown grinding.
  • Don't forget alts. Although renown is shared across the warband, alternate characters can complete world quests in parallel, increasing your Duskfathom Marl income.
  • Use the Darkmoon Faire. The extra 10% reputation stacks with other bonuses and speeds up your progress.

Started playing back in Pandaria, when the pandaren were still a novelty. Got stuck on Monk because it's the only class where you don't get dizzy after a dash. Tries to manage both tanking and kicking enemies in the face.
