Overview

Aquamarine Swarmite

Game iconAquamarine Swarmite is an epic ground and flying mount added in patch 11.0.2 of the The War Within expansion. It is a turquoise-colored nerubian swarmite — a winged, insect-like creature bred deep within Azj-Kahet. The mount is purchased from Lady V'nazian or I'taki in the Weaver's Lair for 3,940 Kej at Renown 23 with the Severed Threads faction.

The Aquamarine Swarmite stands out with the rich aquamarine hue of its chitinous wings. Your character mounts the swarmite's back, and in flight the creature spreads its translucent wings, creating a distinctive buzzing effect. The mount adapts to your riding skill and current location.

Why You Want This Mount

  • Guaranteed acquisition — the mount is bought from a vendor for currency. There is no random drop — reach the required Renown and save up Kej, and the mount is yours
  • Unique nerubian aesthetic — the swarmite comes in a rare aquamarine color that stands out clearly from other color variants (shadow, brood). It is one of the few brightly colored mounts with a nerubian theme
  • Ground and flying — the mount works both on the ground and in the air. Speed depends on your riding skill: from +60% on the ground up to +310% in flight
  • Account-wide — once purchased and learned, the mount appears in the collection of every character on your account
  • Thematically tied to The War Within content — if you are working through Azj-Kahet content, this mount complements your character naturally and highlights your progress in the nerubian zone

How to Obtain

To buy the mount you must meet two conditions: reach Renown 23 with the Severed Threads faction and have 3,940 Kej.

  1. Begin the main The War Within story campaign. Work through the expansion's zones in order to unlock access to Azj-Kahet
  2. Complete the Azj-Kahet storyline. This unlocks world quests and the pact system of the Severed Threads faction
  3. At Renown 3, choose a pact with one of the three leaders (General, Vizier, or Weaver). Progress in the pact also raises your Renown with the Severed Threads
  4. Build up your Renown with the Severed Threads to level 23
  5. Save up 3,940 Kej
  6. Travel to the Weaver's Lair in Azj-Kahet and find Lady V'nazian (coordinates: 55.2, 41.2)
  7. Purchase the Game iconAquamarine Swarmite and use the item to learn the mount

How to Reach Azj-Kahet

Azj-Kahet is an underground nerubian zone located in Khaz Algar. Access opens up as you progress through the main The War Within story campaign.

First Visit

  1. Work through the main The War Within storyline via the Isle of Dorn and the Ringing Deeps
  2. The story campaign will automatically lead you into Azj-Kahet
  3. Keep completing quests — they will unlock the Weaver's Lair, where the faction quartermaster is located

Quick Access (after unlocking)

After completing the storyline, a portal becomes available:

  1. Travel to Dornogal (the capital on the Isle of Dorn)
  2. Find the portal to Azj-Kahet in the portal room
  3. The portal will take you to the Weaver's Lair — right where the faction quartermasters are

Vendor Coordinates

/way Azj-Kahet 55.2 41.2 Lady V'nazian

Note: after choosing a pact with one of the leaders (at Renown 3), the vendor I'taki may be replaced by Lady V'nazian. Both NPCs sell the same goods, including the mount.

Building Renown with the Severed Threads

You need Renown 23 to buy the mount. Below are the main reputation sources.

Story Campaign (main starting source)

Completing the main Azj-Kahet storyline and the local stories for the "Wanderer" achievement grants large one-time chunks of reputation. Finishing the zone's story awards a full Renown level.

Pact System

At Renown 3 you choose a pact with one of the three leaders. Each level of progress in the pact also raises your Renown with the Severed Threads by one full level.

World Quests

World quests in Azj-Kahet grant reputation points with the Severed Threads. Check the map regularly — quests refresh every few hours.

Forays

Quests to take part in forays (such as "Foray Call: Weaver's Wind" and "Foray Call: Depths of Tak-Rethan") each grant 150 Kej. They can be repeated on alternate characters.

Rare Enemies

Defeating rare creatures in Azj-Kahet grants 45 Kej each.

Weekly Dungeons

Completing the weekly quest to run a specific dungeon grants alternate characters 115 Kej.

How to Farm Kej

Kej is the Azj-Kahet currency used for purchases from the Severed Threads quartermasters. Here are the main sources:

  • Renown increases — bonus chunks of Kej are awarded at Renown levels 3, 8, 10, 14, 18, and 22
  • Forays — 150 Kej for each foray
  • Rare enemies — 45 Kej for every rare creature killed in Azj-Kahet
  • Weekly dungeons — about 115 Kej for repeating the weekly quest
  • World quests — small amounts of Kej for completing quests in the zone

Kej can be transferred between characters in your party, letting you accumulate currency faster if you play several characters.

Tips

1

Start with the story — do not skip the main Azj-Kahet campaign. It grants large one-time Renown bonuses and unlocks the world quests that are essential for progress

2

Choose your pact as early as possible — at Renown 3 be sure to choose a pact with one of the three leaders. Each pact level also grants a Renown level, which significantly speeds up progress

3

Farm Kej in parallel — while you grind Renown, the currency will accumulate naturally. By level 23 you will most likely already have enough Kej for the purchase

4

Use alternate characters — Kej is transferable between characters. If you have several max-level characters, run forays and weekly quests on each of them

5

Kill rare creatures — mark rare mobs on the Azj-Kahet map. Each one grants 45 Kej, and with a regular sweep this adds up to a noticeable sum

6

The mount is account-bound — grind Renown on whichever character is most convenient. After purchase the mount becomes available to all your characters

7

Check the vendor — if you do not see Lady V'nazian, look for I'taki — an alternate quartermaster with the same stock. They may be available before you finish the pact-choice quest
