Overview

Arcanovoid Construct

The Arcanovoid Construct is a flying mount shaped like an arcane golem twisted by Void energy. It is one of the most prestigious rewards of Midnight Season 1, available exclusively for soloing the delve against the nemesis Nullaeus on the highest difficulty.

The mount is tied to the Let Me Solo Him: Nullaeus achievement and is available only during Midnight Season 1. Once Season 2 begins, it will no longer be obtainable.

Why You Want This Mount

  • Limited availability — the mount will leave the game when Midnight Season 1 ends. It is a direct counterpart to the "Let Me Solo Him" achievements from previous seasons, and every such mount becomes a rarity over time.
  • A mark of mastery — earning the Arcanovoid Construct proves that you can take down the seasonal nemesis solo on the highest difficulty.
  • A unique model — the golem blends an arcane glow with Void energy, creating a memorable appearance.
  • There is also a legendary version of the achievement (for the first 4,000 players in the region) that grants an extra title.

Note: your companion Valeera Sanguinar does not count as another player. The achievement requires the absence of living players in your group, not NPC companions.

How to Reach the Torment's Rise Delve

The Torment's Rise delve is located in the Voidstorm zone, to the southeast of the Obscurion Citadel.

No additional quest chains are required to enter — you only need access to the Voidstorm zone, which opens up over the course of the main Midnight story campaign. The delve contains only one boss: Nullaeus.

Preparing for the Fight

Companion Setup

Valeera Sanguinar plays a key role in this fight. Specialization recommendations:

  • For melee and ranged damage dealers, as well as tanks — set Valeera as a healer. She will dispel dangerous effects (primarily Devouring Essence) so you can focus on interrupting the boss's casts.
  • For healers — set Valeera as a damage dealer. She will handle interrupting Emptiness of the Void while you focus on healing and dispelling.

Use the signal system (markers on the ground and on enemies) to control Valeera's positioning during the fight.

Recommended Curios

  • Combat curio: Porcelain Blade Tip (critical strike bonus) or Sanctum's Edict (30% absorb shield).
  • Utility curio: Time-Lost Edict (movement speed, cooldown recharge, increased cast speed).

Consumables

Bring potions, flasks, food and Heroism / Bloodlust drums — you will need them in the final phase of the fight.

Nullaeus Fight Mechanics: Phase Breakdown

The fight against Nullaeus consists of alternating active phases and intermissions. The boss enters an intermission at 75%, 50% and 25% health, each time activating a new Void orb and summoning helpers.

The Boss's Core Abilities

Nullaeus uses these abilities in every active phase on a roughly 20-second cooldown:

Phase 1 (100% — 75% health)

The boss uses only his core abilities. The priority is to establish a rhythm of interrupting Emptiness of the Void and timely dispelling Devouring Essence. Deal damage and bring the boss down to 75%.

Intermission 1 (75% health)

Nullaeus becomes invulnerable and begins channeling energy into the first Void orb. The intermission lasts about 30 seconds.

Enemies: 2 Razorshell Ravagers appear.

  • Spiny Leap — the ravager leaps to the farthest player, creating a damage zone on the ground. Move out of the circle.
  • Jagged Rip — a powerful bleed on the nearest target. If Valeera is set as a healer, she can dispel this effect.

Void zones: 15 seconds after the intermission begins, a third of the room fills with Void energy. Stay in the safe part of the room. The zones never appear in the same spot twice.

Strategy: quickly kill both ravagers and prepare for the boss's return.

Phase 2 (75% — 50% health)

Nullaeus rejoins the fight. All mechanics from the first intermission remain active — Void zones keep appearing. Manage your positioning, interrupt and dispel, and bring his health down to 50%.

Intermission 2 (50% health)

Nullaeus becomes invulnerable again and activates the second Void orb.

Enemies: 7 Spitting Ticks appear.

  • Poisonous Spit — each tick fires a projectile dealing moderate damage. The danger is that there are seven of them, so the combined damage is very high.

Black hole: 15 seconds in, a black hole appears in the room, moving across the arena and pulling you toward it. The closer you are, the stronger the pull.

Strategy: use crowd control and kill the ticks as fast as possible. Save your movement abilities for moments when the black hole is nearby.

Phase 3 (50% — 25% health)

All previous mechanics are active at once — Void zones and the black hole. Keep controlling the space and lowering the boss's health.

Intermission 3 (25% health)

Nullaeus activates the third orb and summons an Enslaved Voidcaster.

  • Shadow Bolt — a cast spell that can be interrupted.
  • Shadow Crash — a cast spell with a damage zone that can be interrupted.
  • Curse of Hesitation — a curse lasting 5 minutes that slows movement by 30%.

Important note on interrupting: interrupt the caster's first spell, but after that do not spend interrupts on the caster. You will need it for Nullaeus's Emptiness of the Void when he returns to the fight. The caster is immune to crowd control.

Final Phase (25% — 0%)

The most intense part of the fight. Nullaeus returns with all previous mechanics, while the Enslaved Voidcaster keeps attacking.

Strategy: use all of your powerful cooldowns — Heroism / Bloodlust / Drums and a combat potion. Focus all your damage on Nullaeus and ignore the caster. Your goal is to kill the boss before the combined damage from all active mechanics becomes unmanageable.

Differences Between Tier 8 and Tier 11

On Tier 11, all abilities deal significantly more damage. Emptiness of the Void is guaranteed to kill if the interrupt is missed. The black hole pulls harder. The total health pool of the boss and his helpers is higher.

If you are still learning this fight — start on Tier 8. Study the order in which abilities appear, practice the rhythm of interrupts and movement, and only move on to Tier 11 once you can clear it confidently.

Which Classes Cope Best

Tank specializations have an advantage in this fight, since Nullaeus's auto-attacks deal heavy Physical damage, while tanks have passive damage reduction and do not depend on constant healing.

Classes with their own short-cooldown interrupt (Demon Hunters, Shamans, Death Knights) also feel more comfortable — a reliable interrupt for Emptiness of the Void is critical to survival.

If you play a class without magic dispels — Valeera in the healer role compensates for that gap.

Tips and Common Mistakes

  • Check your group before entering. Make sure you are not in a group with other players. The achievement will not count if there is even one player in the group, even if they are outside the delve.
  • Don't put off getting it. The mount is available only during Midnight Season 1. Watch for announcements about the season's end date.
  • Practice the fight on Tier 8. The mechanics are identical, but the damage is lower — ideal conditions for practice.
  • Interrupt priority is always Emptiness of the Void. One missed interrupt on Tier 11 means death.
  • Don't waste an interrupt on the caster during the third intermission if the cooldown won't return it in time for Nullaeus's comeback.
  • Use Heroism / Bloodlust in the final phase, not earlier — the last 25% of health is the real damage check.
  • Control Valeera with markers. A blue diamond moves her to a spot, a yellow sword tells her to attack a target. This helps keep her in safe zones and direct her onto priority targets.
