Argent Charger

Argent Charger is an epic ground mount added in patch 3.2.0 of the Wrath of the Lich King expansion. It is a warhorse clad in silver-and-gold plate armor bearing the heraldry of the Argent Crusade. The mount is available exclusively to paladins and is purchased from Dame Evniki Kapsalis at the Argent Tournament Grounds in Icecrown for 100 Champion's Seals.

According to its mount journal description: "Only those who defend the Light may take to the saddle." The Argent Charger is the unique paladin version of the Argent Crusade's warhorse, distinguished from the publicly available Argent Warhorse by its distinctive armor and glowing elements.

• Class exclusivity — this is one of the few mounts in the game available only to paladins. Owning it highlights your dedication to your class and your achievements at the Tournament Grounds
• Guaranteed acquisition — the mount is bought from a vendor rather than dropping with a percentage chance. Once you meet every requirement and save up 100 Champion's Seals, the mount is yours
• Unique model — a horse in silver-and-gold plate armor bearing the crests of the Argent Crusade. It looks majestic and pairs perfectly with paladin sets
• Available to all characters — once learned, the mount appears in the collection of all your characters, but only paladins can ride it
• A symbol of progress — the "Crusader" title and this mount prove that you completed the full Argent Tournament chain and earned the respect of every faction

To purchase the mount, you must meet the following conditions:

• Class: paladin (any race and specialization)
• Riding: the "Apprentice Riding" skill (available from level 10)
• The "Crusader" title: you need to earn the Exalted Champion of the Alliance or Exalted Champion of the Horde achievement. The achievement is account-wide, but each character must earn their Champion's Seals individually
• Currency: 100 Champion's Seals

What the "Exalted Champion" Achievement Includes

You need to simultaneously:

1. Become a Champion of all five of your faction's capitals at the Tournament
2. Reach Exalted reputation with all five capitals
3. Reach Exalted reputation with the Argent Crusade faction

The Tournament Grounds are located in the northeastern part of Icecrown, north of the Shadow Vault.

Ways to Get There

1. Direct flight — if you have unlocked the flight point at the Tournament Grounds, use a flight master in Dalaran (Northrend) or anywhere in Icecrown
2. From Dalaran (Northrend) — fly out of Dalaran north into Icecrown and head northeast. The flight takes about a minute
3. Portal via Chromie — if your character is level 10–50, enable the Wrath of the Lich King timeline through Chromie in Stormwind or Orgrimmar, then travel to Northrend

Vendor Location

Dame Evniki Kapsalis is inside the Silver Pavilion — a large tent in the western part of the Tournament Grounds. She stands by a goods stand and is labeled "Crusader's Quartermaster."

Stage 1: Starting the Chain at the Tournament Grounds

1. Reach the Argent Tournament Grounds in Icecrown (/way Icecrown 69.6 22.8)
2. Find Justicar Mariel Trueheart in the Silver Tent and pick up the starting quest
3. You'll be directed to a representative of your race, who will hand out the first tasks at the "Aspirant" rank

Stage 2: "Aspirant" Rank (3 days)

As an Aspirant you gain access to daily quests that reward Aspirant's Seals. You need to collect 15 Aspirant's Seals (5 per day) and turn them in to advance to the "Valiant" rank.

Stage 3: "Valiant" Rank (5 days per capital)

Now you fight for one of your faction's capitals. For each capital you need to collect 25 Valiant's Seals (5 per day). After turning them in, you become a Champion of that capital. Repeat for all five capitals.

Alliance capitals: Stormwind, Ironforge, Darnassus, the Exodar, Gnomeregan

Horde capitals: Orgrimmar, Thunder Bluff, Undercity, Silvermoon, Darkspear

Stage 4: Grinding Reputation to Exalted

While you progress through the ranks, build up reputation at the same time:

• Capital reputation — daily quests at the Tournament grant reputation with the corresponding capital. Wearing that capital's tabard in dungeons also helps
• Argent Crusade — complete Argent Crusade quests in Zul'Drak and Icecrown, and wear the Tabard of the Argent Crusade in dungeons

Stage 5: Earning the "Crusader" Title

Once you become a Champion of all five capitals and reach Exalted with all five capitals and the Argent Crusade, you earn the achievement and the "Crusader" title.

Stage 6: Saving Up 100 Champion's Seals

After earning the "Crusader" title, additional daily quests open up. Collect Champion's Seals until you have 100.

Stage 7: Buying the Mount

1. Head to the Silver Pavilion at the Tournament Grounds
2. Find Dame Evniki Kapsalis
3. Purchase the Argent Charger for 100 Champion's Seals
4. Use the item to learn the mount

After earning the "Crusader" title, you can earn up to 14–17 Champion's Seals per day:

Time Estimate

With steady farming of 14–17 Seals per day, you'll need roughly 6–8 days after earning the "Crusader" title to save up 100 Seals. However, if you start banking Seals while still at the Champion stage (before earning the title), the process goes faster.

Total Time From Start to Finish

The full path from your first visit to the Tournament Grounds to buying the mount takes roughly 4–6 weeks of completing quests daily:

• Aspirant: 3 days
• Valiant (5 capitals at 5 days each): 25 days
• Saving up 100 Seals: 6–8 days
• Reputation grinding runs in parallel

Daily Plan

At max level (90 in Midnight), all quests at the Tournament Grounds are completed instantly. The optimal order:

1. Pick up every available daily quest from your faction's representatives and the Argent Crusade
2. Complete the kill and resource-gathering quests — at level 90 the mobs in Icecrown die in seconds
3. Run the mounted jousting matches — mount your tournament charger and use shield, lance, and charge
4. Run the "Trial of the Champion" dungeon (Normal and Heroic modes) for extra Seals
5. Turn in all quests and check your progress

Mounted Jousting — Tips

The tournament jousts can be confusing even at high level. The key principles:

• Keep three charges of "Defend" on yourself at all times
• Use "Charge" to replenish charges if your opponent strips your defense
• Attack with "Thrust" when your opponent is low on defensive charges
• Against NPC champions, keep your distance and use "Ranged Throw"

Parallel Reputation Grinding

• Put on the tabard of the capital you need and run a few dungeons — this is the fastest way to push reputation to Exalted
• For the Argent Crusade, use the Tabard of the Argent Crusade in dungeons
• At level 90, run the dungeons from the "Timewalking: Wrath of the Lich King" set via the Chromie system for extra efficiency
