Get Ascended Skymane mount
Overview

Ascended Skymane is a secret mount from the Shadowlands expansion that can be obtained in the Bastion zone. It is a majestic winged horse of a sky-blue color, embodying the power of the Ascended kyrians. The mount drops from the Ascended Hoard after defeating the Council of the Ascended — five rare enemies that must first be summoned by activating five bells (vespers) at different points across Bastion.
Why You Want This Mount
- Unique model — a winged celestial horse with a blue glow, one of the most beautiful mount models in Shadowlands
- The associated achievement "Summoning the Ascended" counts toward the Bastion achievement collection
- Available to characters of any covenant — Kyrian membership is not required
- It is both a ground and flying mount, and supports Dragonriding (dynamic flight)
- Secret content — many players don't know this mount exists, which makes it especially valuable to collectors
Mount Source
The Ascended Skymane drops from the Ascended Hoard, which appears after defeating the Council of the Ascended in the southern part of Bastion.
Drop Chance
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Drop chance | ~4–5% |
| Bad-luck protection | None |
| Chest loot | Once per day per character |
The mount's drop chance is approximately 4–5% according to the player community. There is no system that increases the chance on repeated attempts for this mount.
Requirements and Prerequisites
- Character level 10 or higher (to use the mount), but level 60+ is recommended for looting the Ascended Hoard
- Riding skill — riding training (ground and flying)
- No covenant required — the mount is available to members of any covenant, however membership in the Kyrian covenant grants access to the Bastion teleport network, which speeds up bell activation
- Group or alts — activating all five bells within 5 minutes traditionally requires coordination with other players (2–5 people). With the arrival of dynamic flight, an experienced player can activate all the bells solo
How to Get to Bastion
- Travel to Oribos — the capital of the Shadowlands
- Use the portal to Bastion from the Hall of Portals in Oribos (if you have completed the Shadowlands intro campaign)
- Alternatively: teleport to Oribos through the portal in your faction's capital (Stormwind or Orgrimmar)
Characters of the Kyrian covenant have access to direct teleportation to Elysian Hold — the central hub of Bastion.
Step-by-Step Acquisition Guide
Step 1. Activate the Five Bells (Vespers)
You need to ring five bells scattered across Bastion within 5 minutes of activating the first one. Striking the first bell starts a timer, and if you fail to activate the other four within the allotted time, you'll have to wait for the cooldown (1–2 hours).

Nearest Kyrian Teleport Coordinates
If you are a member of the Kyrian covenant, use the teleport network to speed up your route:
| Teleport near | Coordinates |
|---|---|
| Vesper of Humility | /way #1533 69.3 40.4 |
| Vesper of Courage | /way #1533 39.2 56.1 |
| Vesper of Purity | /way #1533 63.5 72.4 |
| Vesper of Wisdom | /way #1533 41.6 23.3 |
Step 2. Defeat the Council of the Ascended
After activating all five bells, a message about summoning the Council of the Ascended will appear in chat. After one minute, five champions will appear in the Aspirant's Rest area in the south of Bastion:
/way #1533 53.5 88.2 Council of the Ascended
The Council consists of five champions:
- Champion of Courage
- Champion of Wisdom
- Champion of Loyalty
- Champion of Purity
- Champion of Humility Important: you need to reduce each champion's health to 15%, after which they will stop fighting and the battle will end. Each of them has about 150,000 health. On a level 90 character (the current maximum level in Midnight) this is a trivially easy task — the fight takes a few seconds.
Step 3. Loot the Ascended Hoard
After the victory, the Ascended Hoard will appear at the site of the battle. Open the chest — with a ~4–5% chance, the Ascended Skymane will be inside.
The chest can be looted once per day per character.
Farming Optimization
Solo Method with Dynamic Flight
With the arrival of dynamic flight in patch 10.0 (Dragonflight), activating all five bells solo became a realistic task. An experienced player can fly to all the points in under 4 minutes. Recommended route:
- Start at the Vesper of Loyalty (32.2, 17.8) — the northernmost point
- Fly to the Vesper of Wisdom (39.2, 20.4) — nearby
- Then to the Vesper of Courage (33.4, 59.7) — to the south
- Then to the Vesper of Purity (64.3, 69.9) — to the east
- Finish at the Vesper of Humility (71.9, 38.8) — to the north
This route minimizes the distance between the points. After the last bell, you'll still have time to fly to Aspirant's Rest (53.5, 88.2).
Group Method
If solo activation seems difficult, gather a group of 2–5 people. Each player stands at their bell and, on command (a countdown in voice chat), everyone activates their bells simultaneously. This is the most reliable method.
Farming on Alts
| Number of alts | Attempts per day | Approximate days until drop (at 5% chance) |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 1 | ~20 days |
| 3 | 3 | ~7 days |
| 5 | 5 | ~4 days |
| 10 | 10 | ~2 days |
Each level 60+ alt can loot the Ascended Hoard once per day. The more characters, the faster you'll get the mount.
Time per Run
- Solo: ~5–7 minutes (activating bells + fight + loot)
- Group (5 people): ~2–3 minutes (simultaneous activation + fight)
Tips and Tricks
- War Mode can help. If the bells are on cooldown in normal mode, try enabling War Mode — this moves you to a different phase where the bells may be available.
- Don't attack the Council right away. After being summoned, the Council of the Ascended does not disappear until it is attacked. If you're playing solo, you have time to calmly fly to the spawn point.
- Class doesn't matter. On a level 90 character, the fight with the Council is trivial for any class and specialization. Choose the character you find most comfortable to fly with.
- Engineering teleport. If your character has the Engineering profession, use the Wormhole Generator for fast travel around the Shadowlands.
- Watch the bell cooldown. The bells recharge every 1–2 hours after activation. If someone used them recently, you'll have to wait.
- The TomTom addon will help you set up all the bell coordinates in advance so you don't waste time navigating.
- Patience pays off. With a ~4–5% drop chance, you'll statistically need about 20 attempts. With one character, this will take about three weeks of daily farming.

Started playing back in Pandaria, when the pandaren were still a novelty. Got stuck on Monk because it's the only class where you don't get dizzy after a dash. Tries to manage both tanking and kicking enemies in the face.
