Reins of the Ashhide Mushan Beast is an epic ground mount added in patch 5.4 of the Mists of Pandaria expansion. The Ashhide Mushan Beast is a massive mount with an ash-colored hide, purchased from Speaker Gulan on the Timeless Isle for 500 Bloody Coins. Bloody Coins are earned exclusively through PvP activities, which makes this mount one of the most recognizable PvP trophies of the Pandaria era.

Mushan are ancient reptiles of Pandaria, resembling gigantic brontosauruses. The Ashhide Mushan Beast stands out among its kin with its dark-grey hide and ashen tint. The mount journal entry reads: "Some say that riding an ashhide mushan brings health and prosperity. Those people are called mount vendors."

The Timeless Isle is located southeast of the Jade Forest in Pandaria. There are several ways to get there.

Via Chromie (Timewalking)

If your character is below level 50, switch to the Mists of Pandaria timeline via Chromie in Orgrimmar or Stormwind. After that you'll receive the quest Journey to the Timeless Isle, which will teleport you to the isle automatically.

Self-Travel

On a character of level 50 or higher, you can fly to the Timeless Isle on your own:

1. Head to the Jade Forest (Pandaria)
2. Fly southeast from the coast
3. The Timeless Isle is located in the sea, south of the Krasarang Wilds

Vendor Coordinates

Bloody Coins are the PvP currency of the Timeless Isle. You receive one coin for each enemy player kill while under the effect of a special buff. To activate the buff you need one of two items.

Pledge of the Fire-Watcher (Recommended Method)

Pledge of the Fire-Watcher is an item purchased from Speaker Gulan for 100 Timeless Coins. When activated it transforms you into an Ordon Fire-Watcher for 10 minutes. While in this form, enemy player kills award Bloody Coins. The cooldown is 10 minutes.

The main advantage is that the Pledge of the Fire-Watcher works not only on the Timeless Isle but also on battlegrounds. This dramatically speeds up the farm, since opponents are always present on battlegrounds.

Censer of Eternal Agony (Alternative Method)

Censer of Eternal Agony costs 1,000 Timeless Coins. When activated you lose 90% of your health and become hostile to all players — both enemy faction and your own. It only works on the Timeless Isle. This method is less efficient and riskier.

Where to Farm Bloody Coins

Battlegrounds (fastest method):

1. Buy the Pledge of the Fire-Watcher from Speaker Gulan
2. Queue into a random battleground
3. Activate the Pledge of the Fire-Watcher at the start of the match
4. Try to land the killing blow on enemy players — the coin is awarded only for the finishing hit
5. Refresh the buff every 10 minutes

With an active battleground farm you can earn around 50–100 coins per hour depending on your class and activity.

Timeless Isle:

Activate the Pledge of the Fire-Watcher or the Censer of Eternal Agony and attack enemy players on the isle. This method is less stable since the number of opponents on the isle is unpredictable.

Class Choice

The best classes for farming Bloody Coins are those with high burst damage:

• Druid (Feral) — powerful finishing abilities and high mobility
• Rogue — the ability to quickly eliminate single targets
• Mage (Fire) — high burst damage for finishing blows
• Demon Hunter — fast attacks and good survivability

Battleground Tips

• Pick battlegrounds with frequent skirmishes: Warsong Gulch, Eye of the Storm, or Temple of Kotmogu
• Don't forget to refresh the Pledge of the Fire-Watcher buff every 10 minutes
• Focus on finishing kills — the coin is awarded only to whoever lands the killing blow
• Use high-damage abilities for the finishing hit

Time Estimate

With efficient battleground farming (60–100 coins per hour) reaching 500 coins takes roughly 5–10 hours of pure playtime. If you farm only on the Timeless Isle the process will take significantly longer.
