Get Autumnal Wilderling Harness mount
Overview

Autumnal Wilderling Harness is an epic flying mount added to World of Warcraft in the Chains of Domination update. It is one of the four Ardenweald wilderlings — magical deer-like creatures that serve as loyal companions to members of the Night Fae covenant. The autumnal version stands out with warm red-and-gold foliage on its antlers and a vivid orange plumage along its mane, evoking the mood of fading leaves and the harvest.
The mount is sold by the Renown quartermaster Elwyn in the Heart of the Forest — the Night Fae covenant sanctum in Ardenweald. To purchase it you must reach Renown level 70 with the Night Fae and hand over 7,500 Reservoir Anima.
Why You Want This Mount
- A flying mount with a unique model — wilderlings use a skeleton unique to Ardenweald, and the autumnal coloring stands out among flying mounts thanks to its glowing orange-and-gold foliage.
- Covenant theme — the mount perfectly complements the look of a druid or nature guardian, recalling the lush groves of Ardenweald and the Wild Hunt.
- Part of a seasonal collection — together with the
Summer Wilderling Harness and the
Winter Wilderling Harness it forms the Night Fae seasonal wilderling collection. - Warband-wide access — by reaching Renown level 80 with the Night Fae on at least one character, you unlock the mount for the entire account, including characters of other covenants.
- An extra progression reward — buying the mount awards an achievement and finally closes out the Night Fae reputation track for collectors.
How to Obtain
The only way to add the mount to your collection is to walk the Night Fae covenant path and save up enough anima to buy it from Elwyn.
- Join the Night Fae covenant with the Winter Queen in the Heart of the Forest after completing the Ardenweald storyline
- Raise your Renown with the Night Fae to 70. This is done through the weekly quests Replenish the Reservoir and Shaping Fate in Korthia, as well as through the Chains of Domination campaign quests
- Gather 7,500 Reservoir Anima through story quests, Ardenweald world quests, and covenant assaults in the Maw
- Open a portal from Oribos to the Heart of the Forest or use the covenant Hearthstone
- Find Elwyn on the vendor platform at the base of the ancient tree of Ardenweald (roughly /way 56.3 29.6 in the Heart of the Forest)
- Buy the
Autumnal Wilderling Harness for 7,500 Reservoir Anima. The item is applied automatically and adds the mount to your collection
Requirements and Preparation
To gain access to the purchase it is not enough to simply reach Ardenweald — you must meet a series of covenant requirements.
- Membership in the Night Fae. The mount is sold only to members of this covenant. If you belong to the Kyrian, Necrolords, or Venthyr, you will have to switch covenants and build up Renown again.
- Renown 70. This threshold was introduced with the patch 9.1 content and remains unchanged. You can check your current level with the Winter Queen or in the Covenant interface.
- 7,500 Reservoir Anima. This is a substantial sum — for comparison, the weekly quest Replenish the Reservoir requires only 1,000 anima.
- Access to the Heart of the Forest. It opens automatically after joining the covenant and completing the first story quest.
Speeding Up Renown on Alts
If you have already reached Renown 80 with any covenant on your account, you can buy a
Broker Mark of Distinction for 500 gold from Au'dara on the upper level of Oribos. The mark instantly raises your active covenant to Renown 60, after which you only need to gain 10 more levels to purchase the autumnal wilderling.
How to Reach the Heart of the Forest
The Heart of the Forest lies at the center of Ardenweald and serves as the Night Fae sanctum. You can reach it in several ways.
- Portal from Oribos — on the outer ring of Oribos, find the portal bearing the Ardenweald crescent and step through it
- Covenant Hearthstone — all Night Fae members have a free return stone that teleports them directly to the Heart of the Forest
- Mushroom ring network — after completing an additional storyline, a network of teleports across Ardenweald unlocks, including to the Heart of the Forest
- On foot from Ardenweald — if you are already in the zone, head toward the center of the map at roughly /way 56.3 29.6
After arriving, descend to the lower platform to reach the vendors. Elwyn stands next to the covenant quartermaster near the base of the giant tree.
Optimizing Renown Farming
The journey from zero to Renown 70 takes several weeks, but the process can be sped up considerably if you use every source correctly.
Weekly Tasks
- Replenish the Reservoir — collect 1,000 anima and deposit it in the sanctum reservoir. Reward:
Renown badge (1 Renown level) - Shaping Fate — fill the progress bar in Korthia by killing rares, opening chests, and completing daily quests. Grants another Renown badge.
- Patterns Within Patterns — a weekly quest in Zereth Mortis from patch 9.2 that also rewards an emblem
Chains of Domination Campaign
Each of the nine chapters of the patch 9.1 story campaign raises Renown by 2 levels. Complete all available chapters on your Night Fae character to gain up to 18 levels with no additional farming.
Gathering Reservoir Anima
To collect 7,500 anima, the most convenient option is to farm rares in Zereth Mortis. Small rares give 100–200 anima, large ones around 250 per kill. In the Dunes near Iska and the neighboring rares, communities usually form groups through Group Finder, letting you earn 5,000–7,000 anima per hour.
- Watch for guild and global groups on Zereth Mortis rares.
- Complete covenant daily quests and Ardenweald world quests — they deposit anima straight into the reservoir.
- Don't spend anima on cosmetics and sanctum upgrades before buying the mount if you want to speed up the process.
Tips
Save up anima in advance — by Renown 68–69, already have 7,500 anima banked so you can buy the mount the moment you level up.
Finish the Night Fae storyline — beyond Renown, the campaign unlocks teleports and locations that make world farming in Ardenweald easier.
Use the Broker Mark of Distinction on alts — it is the fastest way to collect all four wilderlings if you have several characters.
Check your Warband status — once you reach Renown 80 the mount becomes account-wide, so it's worth choosing a main character for the purchase who will push Renown to the maximum.
Don't confuse it with the Spring Wilderling — the
Spring Wilderling Harness exists only in the data and is still not implemented in the game, so it is not yet possible to assemble the full seasonal collection.
Combine it with the other Night Fae mounts — the same vendor Elwyn also sells the
Ardenweald Wilderling Harness at Renown 45 and the
Wandering Wilderling Harness as an achievement reward. Plan your anima budget so you can close them all out at once.
