Azure Worldchiller — How to Get the Mount
Azure Worldchiller

Azure Worldchiller — an epic flying mount, a frosty recolor of the
Obsidian Worldbreaker, which was a reward for the 15th Anniversary of WoW achievement. Visually the mount is rendered in deep indigo-blue tones and resembles an ice dragon.
The mount collection description reads: "In the farthest corners of Azeroth, tales are told of a terrible dragon that blanketed the land in a shroud of agony. In some versions of this story, its fiery presence brought catastrophic doom and destruction across the world. In others, it's blue."
The mount was added in Patch 10.1.7 and first became available during the 19th Anniversary of World of Warcraft in November 2023. Since then it returns every year during the anniversary event.
Why You Want This Mount
- Striking appearance — a frosty version of the iconic Obsidian Worldbreaker, a dragon model in icy tones
- A full-fledged flying mount that adapts to your riding skill and zone (ground, flying)
- Available for free on first kill of the world boss during the anniversary event
- Can be purchased with Timewarped Badges if you don't want to wait for the drop
- Account-bound — available to all your characters
How to Obtain the Azure Worldchiller
There are two ways to get this mount. Both are available only during the annual WoW Anniversary event, which takes place every November and lasts roughly two to three weeks.
Method 1 — Drop from Doomwalker
The primary method. Doomwalker is a world boss that patrols the area south of the Caverns of Time in Tanaris during the anniversary event.
Key details:
- On the first kill per character the mount drops with a guaranteed chance (100%)
- On subsequent kills the chance is significantly lower (around 1–2% according to Wowhead)
- The boss can be killed once per day per character
- Requires a character of level 30 or higher
- The boss is available to both factions
Method 2 — Purchase from a Vendor
Starting with the 20th Anniversary (Patch 11.0.5) the mount can also be purchased from an NPC.
- Vendor: Historian Ma'di
- Price: 5,000 Timewarped Badges
- Vendor location: near the Caverns of Time in Tanaris (approximately 62.6, 50.4)
- The vendor is available only during the anniversary event
Timewarped Badges can be earned by completing anniversary event quests, running Timewalking dungeons, and other anniversary activities.

Boss Abilities
Doomwalker is a fel mechanical being with the following abilities:
- Crush Armor — stacking armor reduction on the tank
- Earthquake — periodic AoE damage
- Frenzy — doubles the boss's physical damage at low health
- Lightning Wrath — chain lightning hitting multiple targets
- Overrun — a charge that knocks down targets
The boss poses no serious challenge for max-level characters. During the anniversary event many players typically gather around it.
How to Get to the Caverns of Time
The Caverns of Time are located in the eastern part of Tanaris. You can get there in several ways:
Via Portal (recommended)
- Stormwind (Alliance): Portal room in the Mage Tower. The Caverns of Time portal is on the first floor, in the northwest section, between the Exodar and Shattrath portals.
- Orgrimmar (Horde): Pathfinder's Den (portal room). The portal is on the lower level, between the Shattrath and Ashran portals — go down the stairs, the portal is straight ahead.
- Dornogal: Use the portals in the Hall of the Founders, which lead to faction capitals, then take the Caverns of Time portal from there.
- Dalaran (Broken Isles): The Caverns of Time portal is in the Chamber of the Guardian.
Boss Coordinates
After arriving at the Caverns of Time, head south from the entrance. Doomwalker patrols the area:
Farming Optimization
- First kill, first served. If you have a level 30+ character that has never killed the anniversary Doomwalker — just kill it once. The mount is guaranteed.
- Alts for farming. If you already received the drop on your first kill on your main but want to farm the mount on additional characters (or get other loot), use alts of level 30+. Each character can loot the boss once per day.
- Timewarped Badges. If you don't want to rely on luck, save up badges. 5,000 badges is roughly 30–40 Timewalking dungeon runs or active completion of anniversary quests throughout the event.
- Track the dates. The anniversary event usually starts in mid-November and lasts 2–3 weeks. Plan your farming in advance and don't leave it for the last days.
- Group content. Players always gather near Doomwalker. Join a raid group through the Group Finder ("WoW Anniversary" or "World Bosses" section) to guarantee loot.
Tips
The mount is account-bound — once obtained on one character, you can use it on all of them.
If you missed the anniversary event, the mount will be available again the following year. Starting with the 20th Anniversary, it is also sold by a vendor for badges.
Don't forget to check that you have the riding skill trained: Apprentice Riding for ground form, Master Riding for flying.
Doomwalker respawns quickly during the anniversary event, so you won't have to wait long if it was just killed.
In addition to the mount, the boss drops themed weapons and armor — make sure to loot everything.
The mount is a classic flyer — it does not support Dragonriding. It uses the standard flight model.
