Get Blisterback Bloodtusk mount

Reins of the Blisterback Bloodtusk is an epic ground mount added in patch 9.0.1 of the Shadowlands expansion. It is a massive skullboar with dark, charred hide, trained by the warriors of the House of the Chosen in Maldraxxus. The mount drops from the rare elite enemy Warbringer Mal’Korak in the Spearhead, Maldraxxus.

The Blisterback Bloodtusk uses the skullboar model — a large, tusked beast distinctive to Maldraxxus. Despite its menacing appearance, the mount is strictly ground-bound and cannot fly. The model is based on the Warlords of Draenor boar skeleton with updated textures.

• Rarity — the drop chance is roughly 2–3%, making the Blisterback Bloodtusk one of the rarer Shadowlands mounts. Far from every player can boast this mount in their collection
• Unlimited attempts — unlike raid mounts that can only be farmed once per week, Warbringer Mal’Korak can be killed every time he respawns. That means many attempts in a single play session
• Unique theme — skullboars are found only in Maldraxxus. The Blisterback Bloodtusk has a particularly dark coloring that sets it apart from other mounts of this type
• Available to all characters — once obtained, the mount becomes available on every character on your account
• Achievement — killing Mal’Korak counts toward the "Adventurer of Maldraxxus" achievement

The Blisterback Bloodtusk drops from Warbringer Mal’Korak — a level 62 rare elite enemy in Maldraxxus.

1. Travel to Maldraxxus. Use the portal from Oribos or a hearthstone set to the zone
2. Make your way to the Spearhead — a subzone in the south of the House of the Chosen's territory
3. Find Mal’Korak at the base of the main tower at coordinates /way Maldraxxus 33.8 79.4
4. Kill Mal’Korak and his war boar Tuskripper
5. Loot the corpse — with luck it will contain Reins of the Blisterback Bloodtusk
6. Use the item to learn the mount

The encounter with Mal’Korak involves fighting two enemies at once.

Combat Participants

• Warbringer Mal’Korak — the primary enemy. A humanoid, rare elite mob
• Tuskripper — Mal’Korak's war boar. When the fight begins, Mal’Korak dismounts and both enemies attack simultaneously

Mechanics

• War Banner — Mal’Korak plants a banner that increases his damage dealt by 20%. The banner cannot be targeted or destroyed. Pull the boss away from the banner to remove the buff
• High damage — together both enemies deal significant damage. It is recommended to have a large health pool or self-healing abilities

Combat Recommendations

• At max level (90 in Midnight) the fight poses no challenge for most classes and specializations
• If your character is a lower level (50–60), it is recommended to look for a group via the Group Finder or ask for help in the zone's general chat
• Tank specializations handle it most easily thanks to their high survivability
• Kill Tuskripper first to reduce incoming damage, then finish off Mal’Korak
• Pull Mal’Korak away from his banners — this will reduce damage taken by 20%

Respawn Timer

Warbringer Mal’Korak appears every 45–90 minutes. The exact timing varies and depends on server activity.

How to Farm Efficiently

1. Create or find a group — open the Group Finder (the I key) and find a group named "Mal’Korak"
2. Track rare mobs — use the RareScanner or TomTom addon to track the appearance of rare enemies
3. Farm between respawns — while waiting for Mal’Korak, kill other rare enemies of Maldraxxus for the "Adventurer of Maldraxxus" achievement or to gather anima
4. Loot quickly — Mal’Korak's body despawns very fast. If you don't manage to loot it, the loot will arrive by mail
5. Don't convert the group to a raid — this can cause phasing issues, and you'll lose access to the server's phase

Multiple Characters

The mount is account-bound, so you can farm it on multiple characters at once. Park alts at the spawn point and switch between them after each respawn to increase the number of attempts.

From Oribos

1. Travel to Oribos — the capital of the Shadowlands. Portals to Oribos are available from the capitals of both factions
2. Find the portal to Maldraxxus in the Ring of Transference in Oribos (the ring of portals on the lower level)
3. Step through the portal — you'll arrive at the Theater of Pain
4. From the Theater of Pain, head south toward the Spearhead

Via Chromie (for characters below level 50)

If your character hasn't yet reached level 50, you can enable the Shadowlands timeline through Chromie in Stormwind or Orgrimmar. After that, complete the Shadowlands intro quest chain to gain access to Maldraxxus.

The Blisterback Bloodtusk differs from the Mistveil Bloodtusk in its darker, charred coloring. If you want a guaranteed skullboar, it's easier to start with the Mistveil Bloodtusk via reputation.
