Get Bloodfang Widow mount

Bloodfang Widow was added in patch 7.0.3 of the Legion expansion and is one of the most expensive mounts in the game. The Bloodfang Widow is the first spider mount in World of Warcraft. You can buy it from The Mad Merchant in The Wonderworks shop in Dalaran above the Broken Isles for 2,000,000 gold.

The process of obtaining the mount is mechanically simple, but it requires a significant financial investment and patience.

1. Save up 2,000,000 gold — this is the main and most labor-intensive requirement
2. Travel to Dalaran above the Broken Isles (the Legion version)
3. Find The Wonderworks shop at coordinates 43.2, 46.6 — it is located across from the entrance to the Violet Citadel
4. Wait for The Mad Merchant to appear — he shows up unpredictably, at intervals ranging from a few hours to several days
5. Buy the Bloodfang Cocoon for 2,000,000 gold
6. Use the item — the Bloodfang Widow mount will be added to your collection

The Mad Merchant is a gnome who appears in The Wonderworks shop in Dalaran. He sells four items for enormous sums of gold.

Spawn Schedule

The Mad Merchant has no fixed schedule. Key points:

• The time between spawns ranges from 4 hours to several days
• Once he appears, the merchant stays in place for roughly 1–2 hours
• He spawns region-wide at the same time — if the merchant has appeared, every player in the region can see him
• After the first player makes a purchase, the merchant continues to stand in place for 1–2 hours and then disappears

How Not to Miss His Spawn

• Install the SilverDragon or RareScanner addon — they will alert you when rare characters appear, including The Mad Merchant
• Follow the game communities and chats — players often report when the merchant appears
• Create a /target The Mad Merchant macro and periodically check for him while you are in Dalaran
• Use the TomTom addon to set a waypoint at the merchant's coordinates:

The mount is sold in the Legion version of Dalaran — the city floating above the Broken Isles. Note: in The War Within, Dalaran was destroyed by the storyline, but its Legion version is still available to visit.

Ways to Get There

Dalaran Hearthstone — if you have ever started the Legion campaign, your toy collection should contain the Dalaran Hearthstone. Use it to instantly travel to Dalaran (20-minute cooldown).

Portal from Stormwind (Alliance) — head to Stormwind's portal hall (the Wizard's Sanctum mage tower) and find the portal to Dalaran (Broken Isles). It is located next to the portal to the Blasted Lands.

Portal from Orgrimmar (Horde) — in Orgrimmar's portal hall, find the portal to Dalaran (Broken Isles). It is located on the upper tier in the Cleft of Shadow.

Mage — the Mage class has the spell "Teleport: Dalaran - Broken Isles", which lets you travel to Dalaran directly.

After Arriving in Dalaran

Once you are in Dalaran, head to the central square. The Wonderworks shop sits across from the Violet Citadel. Go inside — if The Mad Merchant has appeared, you will see a gnome sitting on a sack of beans.
