Bloodflank Charger
Overview

Bloodflank Charger is a Horde ground warhorse clad in heavy spiked armor, added to World of Warcraft in the Battle for Azeroth expansion in patch 8.1.5 "Tides of Vengeance." The model is a massive black horse with glowing hooves and a red underbelly, styled in blood-red tones.
The mount is granted as a reward for the Two Sides to Every Tale achievement, which requires completing the full Battle for Azeroth war campaign for both the Alliance and the Horde on the same account. At the same time as the Bloodflank Charger, your account receives the Alliance counterpart mount —
Snowfeather Ironclad. The Bloodflank Charger is only available to Horde characters and the wolf only to Alliance characters, but both mounts unlock at once and permanently.
Why You Want This Mount
- A unique Horde horse model — the Horde collection has only a handful of such grim spiked steeds, and the Bloodflank Charger stands out with its massive armor
- Two mounts for one achievement — alongside it your account receives the
Snowfeather Ironclad, giving you two new mounts for the Horde and the Alliance at once - Tied to the Battle for Azeroth story — the war campaign for both sides of the conflict remains one of the most substantial story arcs in the series and rewards a unique mount upon completion
- Speed 10 out of 10 — the mount uses the standard +60% or +100% movement speed bonuses depending on your riding skill and travels at maximum ground speed
- Account-wide access — once earned, the Bloodflank Charger appears in the mount collection of all your Horde characters, and the Snowfeather Ironclad on all your Alliance characters
How to Obtain
The mount is granted automatically once you complete the Two Sides to Every Tale achievement. You must finish four sub-achievements — two for each faction.
- On a Horde character, complete the Zandalar story campaign and earn Zandalar Forever!
- On the same or another Horde character, complete the patch 8.1 war campaign and earn Tides of Vengeance
- Switch to an Alliance character and complete the Kul Tiras story until you earn the A Nation United achievement
- On the Alliance character, complete the patch 8.1 war campaign and earn Tides of Vengeance (the Alliance achievement)
- Once the fourth sub-achievement is locked in, the game will automatically award Two Sides to Every Tale and mail the
Bloodflank Charger to your Horde character and the
Snowfeather Ironclad to your Alliance character - Collect the mount mail and use the items — the mounts unlock account-wide
Sub-Achievements
To complete Two Sides to Every Tale you need to close four BfA metas — two for each faction.
The four metas can be completed in any order. Progress is saved at the account level: if, for example, you have an old Alliance character with A Nation United but no Tides of Vengeance, you only need to finish the remaining achievements.
How to Complete the Achievement Fastest
The most time-consuming stage is the Zandalar and Kul Tiras story metas, because each of them requires completing all the key questlines of the continent. The war campaign and its continuation are much shorter.
- If you already have a Horde character with Zandalar Forever! and Tides of Vengeance closed — go straight to the Alliance and close the missing metas
- If you start from scratch, pick one Horde and one Alliance character at max level. At level 90 the BfA story goes much faster thanks to high damage
- Accept the war campaign intro quest in your capital — in Zuldazar from Nathanos Blightcaller, or in Boralus from Lord Admiral Halford Wyrmbane
- Complete the campaign chapter by chapter. Each chapter unlocks as you raise reputation with your continent's factions and complete its story quests
- After finishing the base campaign, activate the patch 8.1 "Tides of Vengeance" continuation — it grants an achievement of the same name on both sides
- Complete the continent's story meta — this is the shortest path to Zandalar Forever! or A Nation United
Optimizing Leveling on Both Factions
Parallel Progression
If you have no ready characters, the optimal strategy is to level two new heroes in parallel on both sides of the conflict.
- Use the increased experience from adventure and banner bonuses to quickly boost new characters to max level
- At max level, switch between characters every 2–3 campaign chapters so you don't lose interest in the same story
- Sub-achievement progress is counted independently, so they can be closed in any convenient order
Using Old Characters
If you already have characters who played through BfA while it was current, check the Achievements tab → Quests → Battle for Azeroth. Any previously closed entry counts immediately, even if the character was deleted long ago: achievements are bound to the account.
Obtaining the Mount
Once the Two Sides to Every Tale achievement fires automatically, the standard notification appears in the center of the screen. Visit any post office — the mount mail arrives within a few minutes. The
Bloodflank Charger is sent to the Horde character, and the
Snowfeather Ironclad to the Alliance character on which the final metas were closed.
Tips
1
Close the long metas first — the Zuldazar and Kul Tiras stories are the most extensive, so it's better to start with them than to leave them for later
2
Don't skip the patch 8.1 war campaign — Tides of Vengeance and its Alliance version are often forgotten by players, and without them the achievement won't complete
3
Check the "Legacy" tab — some BfA quests have been moved to the legacy quest section, and progress on them sometimes only shows up after accepting them again
4
Unlock the paired Alliance mount in time — even if you only play Horde, having the
Snowfeather Ironclad unlocked is useful for future Alliance characters

Started playing back in Pandaria, when the pandaren were still a novelty. Got stuck on Monk because it's the only class where you don't get dizzy after a dash. Tries to manage both tanking and kicking enemies in the face.
