Get Blue Barry mount
Overview

Blue Barry is a ground mount from the slateback family, added in patch 11.2 "Ghosts of K'aresh" of The War Within. It is a rare blue variant of the slateback, a creature previously used as a pack animal. The mount is bound to your Battle.net account and becomes available to all of your characters once obtained.
Why You Want This Mount
- Unique model — a rare blue variant of the K'aresh slateback that stands out among other mounts of this type
- The name is a nod to the English word "blueberry" — a pun playing on the creature's name and its color
- No RNG required — the mount is guaranteed for completing the quest chain, with no drop chance involved
- Adds +1 to your mount collection and counts toward the corresponding collector achievements
- Soloable — the entire quest chain can be completed alone, with no need to form a group
Requirements and Prerequisites
- A level 80 character (the max level in The War Within)
- Access to the K'aresh zone (unlocked through the patch 11.2 story campaign)
- Renown level 9 with the The K'aresh Trust faction

/way #2472 57.6 58.1 Ba'eth
Step-by-Step Acquisition Guide — the "Ba'eth's Request" Chain
The quest chain is spread across 4 days with a one-day break between stages. Each subsequent quest appears after the server reset (daily reset). There is no way to speed it up — completing it faster is impossible.
Day 1: "Steal What Belongs to Us"
Quest: Stealing What is Ours
Quest giver: Ba'eth — /way #2472 57.6 58.1
- Talk to Ba'eth and accept the quest
- Fly to the broker Xy'dax —
/way #2472 46.9 36.8 - After speaking with Xy'dax, his hireling Xy'gats will attack you — defeat him
- Collect the 10 missing goods near Xy'dax
- Load the goods onto Blue Barry
- Escort Blue Barry back to Ba'eth (during the escort you won't be able to use your own mounts)
- Turn the quest in to Ba'eth
Tip: the route back to Ba'eth is safe, with few aggressive mobs along the way. The trip takes about 2–3 minutes on foot.
Day 2: "Mutual Benefit"
Quest: Win-Win Situation Quest giver: Ba'eth
This quest is a trading mini-game. You need to talk to several NPCs in sequence and exchange items:
- Talk to Zo'fain
- Buy a box of cookies and Ba'kei's Special Cookie from Ba'keri —
/way #2472 43.3 37.0 - Talk to Xy'su
- Give Ba'kei's Special Cookie to Ba'kei himself
- Talk to Ba'kajani
- Talk to Collector Glazi
- Talk to Mo'tou
- Talk to Xy'lou
- Return to Ba'eth and turn the quest in
Tip: all of the trading mini-game NPCs are located within Tazavesh. Follow the markers on the minimap — the quest takes 5–10 minutes.
Day 3: "The Wrong Bluehead" and "Meat Business"
Quest 1: The Wrong Bluecephalus
Quest giver: Xy'dax — /way #2472 46.9 36.8
- Talk to Ba'eth
- Talk to Xy'zin
- Turn the quest in
Quest 2: Meat My Business
Gather materials to feed Blue Barry:
| Material | Quantity | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Dustback Flank | 12 | Slateback Diggers near Eco-Dome: Primus |
| Finwing Tail | 5 | Finwing Hunters to the west of Eco-Dome: Primus |
| Snapper Eggs | 5 | On the floating islands near Eco-Dome: Primus |
Tip: all materials are gathered out in the open world to the east and west of Eco-Dome: Primus. The farm takes 10–15 minutes depending on competition for mobs.
Day 4: "Phase Tricks" and "Blue Charmer"
Quest 1: The Grift Quest giver: Jul
You need to enter "the Boundless" via a phase dive in Tazavesh and collect several items:
| Item | Source |
|---|---|
| Prosperity Pebbles | Picked up off the ground |
| Reverse-Effect Wish Bracelet | Drops from a Shadowed Fate-Dealer near the tavern |
| Mismatched Balance Boots | Drops from a Shadowed Fate-Dealer |
| Expired Luck Potion | Rare drop from a Disembodied Energy Broker |
| Coin of Infinite Debt | Drops from an Untethered Brawler |
Quest 2: A Blue for You — the final quest
After completing "The Grift" you will receive the quest "A Blue for You." Turn it in, and Blue Barry will be added to your mount collection.
Tips and Tricks
- Start building Renown early. If you have only just started playing in patch 11.2, focus on the main campaign and world quests — they grant the most reputation with The K'aresh Trust. Reaching Renown 9 usually takes the first week of active play.
- Don't skip days. The chain is timed to exactly 4 days. If you miss a day, it won't reset your progress — the quest will wait for you at the quest giver. But you also can't speed the process up.
- Class doesn't matter. Every quest can be completed on any class and specialization. The fights are trivial for a level 80 character.
- Memorize NPC locations. On the second day you'll have to make the rounds of many vendors in Tazavesh. Keep an eye on the minimap markers so you don't waste time searching.
- Material farming on day 3. If there are a lot of other players near Eco-Dome: Primus, try switching phases via a Group Finder group, or come back during a less busy time.
- Phase diving on day 4. In "the untethered space" the mobs are tougher than usual. If your gear is weak, be careful and don't pull several enemies at once.
- Ground mount. Blue Barry is a ground mount. Keep that in mind when planning to use it — in flying zones it will only travel along the ground.
