Get Blue Qiraji Resonating Crystal mount
Overview

Blue Qiraji Resonating Crystal is a rare mount added back in patch 1.11.1 alongside the opening of the Gates of Ahn'Qiraj. The item summons the
Blue Qiraji Battle Tank — a tamed silithid that bursts out of the ground at the crystal's signal.
An important quirk: the mount only works inside the Temple of Ahn'Qiraj. Outside the raid it cannot be summoned. Any hostile action against your character automatically dismounts you.
Why You Want This Mount
- Counts toward mount-collecting achievements (Leading the Cavalry, Filling Up the Barn, and others)
- One of four colored Qiraji Battle Tanks — a full collection of the blue, green, yellow, and red bugs looks impressive
- Increases movement speed by 100% inside the Temple of Ahn'Qiraj, which helps when re-running the raid
- A classic Vanilla-era WoW mount — a piece of nostalgia and a symbol of legendary content
Requirements
- A character of level 10 or higher
- The Apprentice Riding skill
- Access to the Temple of Ahn'Qiraj raid in Silithus, Kalimdor
- At level 90 the raid can be soloed without any trouble
How to Reach the Temple of Ahn'Qiraj
The Temple of Ahn'Qiraj is located in the southwestern part of Silithus, Kalimdor. The raid entrance lies beyond the Gates of Ahn'Qiraj — a massive wall in the desert.
- Get to Silithus — teleport to Uldum or the Cenarion Hold and fly southwest
- Find the entrance to the Temple of Ahn'Qiraj — it sits to the right of the entrance to the Ruins of Ahn'Qiraj. Don't mix them up: you need the Temple (the 40-player raid), not the Ruins
- Step inside — at level 90 you can set the difficulty to 25 Heroic for the maximum amount of trash
Mount Source
The mount drops from trash mobs (regular enemies) inside the Temple of Ahn'Qiraj. No boss is a source of the drop — only the regular enemies between bosses.
| Mob | Drop Chance |
|---|---|
| Qiraji Lasher | ~13% |
| Qiraji Slayer | ~13% |
| Qiraji Champion | ~13% |
| Anubisath Sentinel | ~12% |
| Anubisath Defender | ~12% |
| Qiraji Mindslayer | ~10% |
| Anubisath Sentinel | ~9% |
| Obsidian Eradicator | ~9% |
The percentages in the table represent the chance that this particular mob is the source of your drop. The overall chance for the crystal to drop from any single trash mob is about 5%.
Step-by-Step Farming Guide
Step 1 — Preparation
At level 90 all trash dies in a single hit. No special gear is required. Make sure you have enough free bag space — besides the mounts, classic-era transmog gear drops here as well.
Step 2 — Clearing the Trash
Enter the raid and start killing every trash mob you meet. The bulk of the trash is concentrated:
- Before the first boss (The Prophet Skeram) — several mob groups
- In the corridors after Skeram — there are trash packs here
- In the halls before each boss — large groups of Qiraji mobs
Killing bosses is not required, but if you want to reach all the trash in the raid, you'll have to go through several of them.
Step 3 — Resetting the Raid
After clearing the available trash:
- Leave the raid
- Right-click your portrait and choose "Reset all instances"
- Re-enter — the trash respawns, while the bosses stay dead
Limit: you can enter the raid no more than 10 times per hour. Plan your runs so you don't hit this limit.
Step 4 — Repeat Until You Get It
Each run takes 5–10 minutes depending on how deep you go. In a single hour you can do up to 10 runs, killing dozens of trash mobs each time.
All Qiraji Battle Tanks
Four colored variants of the mount drop in the Temple of Ahn'Qiraj. All of them only work inside the raid.
| Mount | Item | Rarity |
|---|---|---|
| Blue Qiraji Resonating Crystal | Medium | |
| Green Qiraji Resonating Crystal | Medium | |
| Yellow Qiraji Resonating Crystal | Medium | |
| Red Qiraji Resonating Crystal | Low (~1%) |
The blue, green, and yellow crystals drop at roughly the same chance (~5% per mob). The red one is the rarest, with a drop chance of around 1%.
Farming Optimization
- Farm before the weekly reset. If you've already killed the bosses this week — no problem, the trash can still be refreshed as many times as you like (within the 10-entries-per-hour limit)
- Don't waste time on bosses. Your target is the trash. Bosses don't drop mounts. Only kill them if they block access to large trash packs
- Collect all four colors in parallel. While you farm the blue bug, you'll very likely get the green and yellow ones too. The red one will take more time
- Use alts. The entry limit is 10 per hour per character. If you have alts at level 10+, you can switch between them and keep farming
- Enter through the main entrance. Some guides suggest using the "back door," but the front entrance gives you access to the trash packs before Skeram, which add extra drop chances
- The mount is character-bound (BoP). If the crystal drops — use it right away, it can't be passed to another character
Tips
The mount counts toward your collection counter despite the restriction of being usable only inside the raid. This is confirmed by Blizzard and works for all mount-count achievements
If you're a collector — the Temple of Ahn'Qiraj gives four mounts from a single raid. It's one of the most rewarding locations for expanding your collection
Don't confuse the regular Qiraji crystals with the
Black Qiraji Resonating Crystal — that legendary mount is no longer obtainable; it was awarded for opening the Gates of Ahn'Qiraj and can be used anywhere in the world
When dismounted inside the raid (due to taking damage), you can immediately re-summon the mount — there is no cooldown
The trash drop is completely random: sometimes the crystal drops on the first run, sometimes after dozens of attempts. Be patient
