Overview

Bonesewn Fleshroc

Game iconBonesewn Fleshroc is an epic flying mount added in patch 9.0.1 of the Shadowlands expansion. It is a massive deadroc — an undead creature stitched together from flesh and bone by the magi of Maldraxxus. The mount is created at the Game iconAbomination Factory of the Necrolord Covenant using abomination stitching once the Factory reaches rank 5.

The Bonesewn Fleshroc is a large winged reptile assembled from fragments of various creatures. Its body is covered in stitches and bony growths, and its wings are made of sewn flaps of skin. The mount's model is a recolor of the Game iconPredatory Plagueroc, but stands out with its distinctive pale, bone-colored coloring.

The in-game description reads: "Only experienced fleshmenders who have mastered the magic of Maldraxxus are capable of creating a deadroc of this size."

Why you want this mount

  • Guaranteed acquisition — the Bonesewn Fleshroc does not rely on a random drop. Gather the materials, level the Abomination Factory to rank 5 — and the mount is yours
  • Flying mount — flight speed depends on your riding skill: +150%, +280% or +310%. On the ground it grants the standard +60% or +100%
  • Unique aesthetic — one of the few undead mounts with a winged reptile model. Perfect for characters tied to themes of death and necromancy
  • Available to all characters — once learned, the mount appears in the collection of every character on the account. You only need to create it once
  • No reputation required — unlike many Shadowlands mounts, the Bonesewn Fleshroc requires no reputation grind with any faction. Just level the Abomination Factory

How to obtain

To create the Bonesewn Fleshroc you must meet several conditions: join the Necrolord Covenant, level the Abomination Factory to rank 5, and gather the required materials.

Leveling the Abomination Factory

The Abomination Factory is a unique feature of the Necrolord Covenant. It is located in Seat of the Primus and lets you create various abominations, pets, toys, and mounts.

How to unlock the Factory

The Factory unlocks automatically as you progress through the Necrolord Covenant campaign. After completing the initial story quests you gain access to the workshop in Seat of the Primus.

Factory ranks

Rank 5 is required to create the Bonesewn Fleshroc. Each successive rank requires an investment of Reservoir Anima:

Rank What it unlocks
1 Basic abomination recipes
2 Expanded recipe list
3 Additional recipes, upgrades
4 Advanced recipes
5 Bonesewn Fleshroc recipe and final recipes

Leveling all ranks takes several thousand Reservoir Anima. Anima can be earned from world quests, weekly quests, dungeons, and raids in Shadowlands.

Where to gather materials

Malleable Flesh

Game iconMalleable Flesh is the main material for most Abomination Factory recipes. You will need 50 units. Main sources:

  • Any creatures of the Shadowlands — Malleable Flesh drops from nearly any mob in Shadowlands zones, but at a low chance
  • Abomination Factory tasks — the special daily tasks that the Factory's abominations carry out reward Malleable Flesh
  • Command Table missions — some Covenant adventure missions reward this material
  • World quests — quests in Maldraxxus sometimes give Malleable Flesh as a reward

Quality Parts

Game iconQuality Parts is a rare material needed for advanced recipes. You will need 5 units. Sources:

  • Command Table missions — the main reliable source. Send your companions on missions that reward Quality Parts
  • Abomination Factory tasks — special abomination tasks occasionally reward Quality Parts
  • Rare enemies — some rare mobs in Maldraxxus can drop this material
  • Chests and treasures — found in the hidden caches of Maldraxxus

Relevance after Shadowlands

Starting with the Dragonflight expansion, the Shadowlands covenant system was unlocked. This means:

  • You don't need to complete the entire Shadowlands campaign over again — just choose the Necrolord Covenant
  • Switching between covenants has become free and instant
  • The Abomination Factory still works and is available for leveling
  • Reservoir Anima can be farmed quickly at max level by killing mobs and completing Shadowlands quests
  • All materials are still available from their former sources

At the current max level, Shadowlands content is cleared much faster, which simplifies gathering materials and leveling the Factory.

Tips

1

Start by leveling the Factory — don't hoard materials in advance. First invest Anima into leveling the Factory's ranks to unlock the Bonesewn Fleshroc recipe. The materials will accumulate over the course of leveling

2

Send missions daily — the Necrolord Command Table provides a steady stream of Malleable Flesh and Quality Parts through missions. Check the table every time you log in

3

Put abominations to work on tasks — abominations created at the Factory can be sent on special tasks that bring additional materials

4

Covenant — only for crafting — once you create the mount you are free to switch covenants. The Bonesewn Fleshroc will remain in your collection forever

5

Interface bug — if creating the mount displays a message about missing ingredients, try selecting another recipe in the list and then returning to the Bonesewn Fleshroc. This resolves a known display issue

6

Combine your farming — while gathering Malleable Flesh in the Shadowlands, also complete world quests to earn Reservoir Anima. This way you level the Factory's ranks and gather materials at the same time

7

Related mounts — if you like the deadroc aesthetic, check out the inv_rocmaldraxxusmountgreenPredatory Plagueroc and the inv_rocmaldraxxusmountblackColossal Clawing Carrier, which are also created at the Abomination Factory
