Bracelet of Salaranga
Overview

Bracelet of Salaranga is an epic ground mount added in Patch 9.1 "Chains of Domination" of the Shadowlands expansion. The mount is a crawling hand of a black color — one of the five color variants of the "hands" from the Maw. The item is awarded for completing the Breaking the Chains meta-achievement, which requires finishing all the Patch 9.1 content in Korthia and the Maw.
According to the lore, Salaranga was the most cunning of her kind and hid in the Beastwarrens. She fell upon the Banished One with a horde of beastly allies. It did not help.
Hand of Salaranga is a ground mount that increases movement speed by 60% or 100% depending on your riding skill. It requires a minimum level of 10 and the "Apprentice Riding" skill.
Why You Want This Mount
- Unique model — a black crawling hand from the Maw. There are five color variants of this mount in the game (black, gold, silver, blue, purple), and the black one is among the rarest
- Guaranteed acquisition — the mount does not depend on a random drop. Complete the meta-achievement, and the Bracelet of Salaranga is guaranteed yours
- Prestigious collector's mount — the meta-achievement demands a large amount of work, so the mount is rare and instantly sets its owner apart
- Available to all characters — once obtained, the mount becomes available on every character on the account
- Fully soloable — all Patch 9.1 Shadowlands content is easily cleared solo at max level (90 in Midnight)

Breaking the Chains Meta-Achievement — General Information
"Breaking the Chains" is a meta-achievement consisting of 9 sub-achievements. All of them are tied to Patch 9.1 content in the Korthia and the Maw zones. The achievement is available to both factions and is account-wide.
At max level (90 in Midnight), all Shadowlands content is cleared solo without any difficulty. The main limitation is the time spent grinding reputation and waiting for event rotations.
All 9 Sub-Achievements
1. Chains of Domination
Complete the main story campaign of Patch 9.1. The quest chain begins automatically upon entering the Maw after the update and will lead you through the events in Korthia and the Maw. At level 90, the quests take 2–3 hours.
How to start: log in on a character who has completed the Shadowlands campaign (or at least started it) and follow the story quests. If the quests do not appear, check your adventure journal — the "Chains of Domination" campaign should be there.
2. Explore Korthia
Uncover all areas on the Korthia map. It is enough to simply fly or run through every corner of the zone. At level 90, this takes 10–15 minutes on a mount.
Areas: Seeker's Quorum, The Shadow Cleft, Mort'regar, Reliquary of Remembrance, the Scar, and the surrounding territories.
3. Treasures of Korthia
Find all 10 one-time treasures in Korthia and Desmotaeron (part of the Maw). Treasures are marked on the map with stars, but some are hidden and require certain actions to access.
Tip: install the HandyNotes: Shadowlands addon — it will show the exact location of all treasures on the map.
4. Conquering Korthia
Defeat all rare enemies in Korthia and the Maw (Desmotaeron). The list includes several dozen mobs. Some of them appear on a schedule or under certain conditions.
Tip: rare mobs in Korthia respawn daily. Use the HandyNotes addon to track the killed and remaining ones. At level 90, each mob is killed in seconds.
5. Reliquary Restoration
Collect 20 Relics of the Archivist in Korthia. Relics are special items scattered around the zone that can be picked up daily. Some are in hard-to-reach places.
Tip: relics appear in fixed spots but change their location daily. Check the zone every day using a tracking addon.
6. Death's Advance
Reach the "Exalted" reputation level with the Death's Advance faction. This is the main faction of Korthia.
Reputation sources:
- Daily world quests in Korthia — 75–175 points each
- Weekly quests — up to 1,750 points
- Emissary quests (when active) — 1,500 points
- Killing rare mobs — small bonuses
- Campaign story quests — a one-time large bonus
Tip: with active farming, reaching Exalted takes about 3–4 weeks. At level 90, world quests are completed instantly.
7. The Archivists' Codex
Grind reputation with the The Archivists' Codex faction up to level 6. Reputation is gained through a special currency — Cataloged Research.
Research sources:
- Treasures of Korthia (daily) — 5–100 units
- Rare mobs — 5–50 units
- Weekly quests — large portions
- Relics — turned in for research
Tip: this is one of the longest sub-achievements. Run through Korthia daily, collecting treasures and killing rares. Full leveling to level 6 takes 4–6 weeks with regular play.
8. On the Offensive
Participate in and complete the Covenant Assaults in the Maw. You must complete all 4 types of assaults (one from each Covenant: Kyrian, Necrolords, Night Fae, and Venthyr). The assaults rotate on a schedule — 2 assaults are available each week.
Tip: completing all 4 assaults will take a minimum of 2 weeks. Check the rotation on Wowhead or in-game.
9. Minions of the Cold Dark
Defeat all 15 Tormentors of Torghast. This event takes place in the Maw every 2 hours. Each time, one of the 15 tormentor bosses appears. You need to kill each of them at least once.
How the event works:
- Every 2 hours, a progress bar and a map marker appear in the Maw
- Arrive at the event location and kill waves of enemies until the bar fills up
- Once the bar is full, a tormentor boss appears — kill it
- The specific tormentor is credited; the bosses follow a fixed rotation
Important: this achievement was previously temporarily unavailable due to a bug (the event did not trigger). As of January 2026, the bug is fixed and the achievement can be earned again. At level 90, the bosses are killed solo in a few seconds.
Tip: to kill all 15 tormentors with the event occurring every 2 hours, you will need a minimum of 30 hours of presence (15 bosses x 2 hours). It is recommended to log in during gaming sessions and check the event timer.
Step-by-Step Plan for Obtaining the Mount
At level 90, all content is cleared solo. Here is the optimal order of actions:
- Week 1: Start the "Chains of Domination" campaign. Complete the story to the end — this unlocks Korthia, world quests, and factions. In parallel, explore the entire Korthia map (the "Explore Korthia" achievement)
- Weeks 1–4: Complete world quests in Korthia daily, kill rare mobs, collect treasures and relics. This simultaneously grinds reputation with Death's Advance and The Archivists' Codex and advances the "Conquering Korthia," "Treasures of Korthia," and "Reliquary Restoration" achievements
- Weeks 1–2: Participate in the Covenant Assaults in the Maw (the "On the Offensive" achievement). Check the assault rotation — you need all 4 types
- Weeks 1–6: Kill the Tormentors of Torghast every 2 hours when you are in the game (the "Minions of the Cold Dark" achievement). Keep an eye on the boss rotation
- Weeks 4–6: By this point, most of the achievements are already complete. Finish off the reputation with The Archivists' Codex up to level 6 — this is usually the last thing remaining
- Finale: After completing all 9 sub-achievements, the "Breaking the Chains" meta-achievement is awarded automatically, and you receive the
Bracelet of Salaranga in your mailbox
How to Get to Korthia and the Maw
Korthia
- Open Oribos — the capital of the Shadowlands. The portal from Stormwind/Orgrimmar is in the portal hall
- In Oribos, head to the portal to Korthia (it appears after starting the "Chains of Domination" campaign)
- Coordinates of the portal in Oribos: next to the Covenant command table
The Maw
For the Covenant Assaults and Tormentors of Torghast events:
- In Oribos, descend to the lower tier
- Use the portal to the Maw (available after completing the initial Shadowlands quests)
- At level 90 in the Maw, there are no movement restrictions — mounts work, and the Jailer does not accumulate threat
Farming Optimization
Daily Plan (20–30 minutes)
- Enter Korthia through the portal from Oribos
- Complete all available Korthia world quests
- Kill the available rare mobs (marked with stars on the map)
- Collect the daily treasures and relics
- Check whether a Tormentors of Torghast event is running in the Maw
- Check whether a Covenant Assault is available
Useful Addons
- HandyNotes: Shadowlands — shows all treasures, rares, and relics on the map
- HandyNotes: Tormentors of Torghast — tracks the timer and location of the Tormentors
- RareScanner — notifies you of rare mob spawns
Timeframes
With daily farming at max level:
| Achievement | Approximate Time |
|---|---|
| Chains of Domination | 2–3 hours (one-time) |
| Explore Korthia | 15 minutes (one-time) |
| Treasures of Korthia | 1–3 days |
| Conquering Korthia | 1–2 weeks |
| Reliquary Restoration | 2–3 weeks |
| Death's Advance | 3–4 weeks |
| The Archivists' Codex | 4–6 weeks |
| On the Offensive | 2 weeks (rotation) |
| Minions of the Cold Dark | 3–6 weeks (rotation) |
Total time: approximately 4–6 weeks with daily farming.
Tips
Start with the campaign — without completing "Chains of Domination," world quests and factions in Korthia will not unlock. Do the story first
Install addons before you start farming — HandyNotes will save you hours of wandering around the zone looking for treasures and rares
Combine your grinding — most daily activities advance several achievements at once. Killing rares grants reputation, Cataloged Research, and "Conquering Korthia" progress
Watch the event rotations — the Covenant Assaults and Tormentors of Torghast follow a schedule. Plan your gaming sessions so you don't miss the events you need
The Tormentor bug is fixed — as of January 2026, the Tormentors of Torghast event works correctly again. If the progress bar does not appear, relog or change shards
Everything is soloable at level 90 — mobs and bosses die in seconds, world quests are completed instantly. Mounts work in the Maw without restrictions
The Archivists' Codex is the longest stage — focus on the daily collection of Cataloged Research from treasures and rares. Don't skip the weekly quests — they grant large portions of research
The mount comes by mail — after completing the meta-achievement, check your mailbox. The Bracelet of Salaranga will arrive as a letter; use the item to learn the mount

Started playing back in Pandaria, when the pandaren were still a novelty. Got stuck on Monk because it's the only class where you don't get dizzy after a dash. Tries to manage both tanking and kicking enemies in the face.
